New Game

Post Tue May 14, 2013 1:35 pm

I'm beginning a new game Saturday night, and will be using BFRPG for the first time. Well, sort of--obviously a lot of elements of BFRPG have appeared in other iterations of D&D and other games. But I'm looking forward to trying out BF--it looks to me like a great combination of a clean 3.X engine with a feel from older versions.

Choosing optional rules and such has been fun--there are so many plug-and-play options!

Yes, good luck and welcome to BFRPG! If during the game you find anything confusing, missing, etc. please let us know, we're working on the 3rd Edition.

We played Saturday night and had a good time. We didn't get too much into the game--a lot of time spent making characters--but everyone seemed to like the rules. I'm hoping this is the beginning of a campaign.

Sounds like a good start! You get really good at character creation as they tend to be more fragile pre-1E ;) Or can always:

1. Hire plenty of henchmen and hirelings
2. Start lvl-1 PCs at max HP
3. Swap hit die for a larger one (ala 1E+)
