I thought I would add my 'Dragonclaw Edition' of this module to the showcase as well. This one has a bit more intrigue in it and allows my players to get some payback on a guy who tried to have them killed. One of the other major differences is the map. Since I love playing with Mapmatic, I converted the map over Mapmatic and made some changes to it as well.

So I finally got a chance to playtest this one with my players and made some changes based on what happened..

1. The guards only get one flask of Alchemist Fire.. Holy crap in two rounds two of the characters were down for the count and a bit extra crispy.. Luckily for them we do the negative hit points rule and the cleric still had his cure light wounds handy!

2. It didn't feel right having the leaders be level 6 fighters.. They are merchants who are used to having other people do things for them. So I just made them normal men. This did get me thinking about NPC levels but thats a story for another thread.

So I've updated the module with these changes. If anybody wants to run a proofread for me on this version that would be great.

I can give it a read-through later today. One thing I did notice, should the Author's Note be at the beginning rather than at the end?

Well I am hoping the DM gives this thing a read through before he starts playing it. It really just gives some ways the DM can change things up to beef up this module if they desire but its not really crucial to the module itself.

Ok this weekend I'm def giving this a look-over. While you've set this in your campaign, I think an outdoor/general map would be good to go along with the existing dungeon map.

Well these shorter adventures are meant to be dropped into an existing campaign as needed, so I didn't see the need to add an outdoor map into the module. But as a DM I provided one to the players since the Captain already knew where the entrance was. When I ran this I actually had guards roaming the area outside the entrance, but the ranger was able to avoid them and get them to door unseen.

I know from experience using other BFRPG modules that there is always some tweaking of the actual module to fit it into an existing campaign. So when I create an adventure I like to leave alot of the specifics to the DM and let him flesh it out. Its why I'm such a big fan of the ODT versions. I can take an adventure, make changes to fit my world (and story line), kick it out to PDF and its ready to play. I usually will call it 'Adventure Name - DC Edition' and keep it stored in a separate folder.

I agree and I personally like modules that can leave as much up to me as possible. I think a general outdoor map just to show the relative area of the town and distance to the mine, and like you mentioned the roaming guards and any other random encounters that a GM could place on the way to the mine itself.

Still reading through the module. I did notice on page 1, bottom of 4th paragraph, you have she capitalized ("However before she
could report her findings back to the Duke, She
was killed in an explosion outside the Farmer's
market.").

Also, maybe include in first paragraph, in addition to you noting this was originally created for your Dragonclaw Barony, that a GM can drop this into any other campaign setting, etc. as that's how I've seen it usually worded in other adventures/modules.

I fixed that capital issue.. The 'fitting into any campaign' is actually at the end in the 'Author's Notes'

Well there it is. :) I still think the Author's Note should be at the beginning, but I'm just stubborn. ;)
