Supplement Question - Art Request
I'm working on an expansion of the Church of Tah. I need to know who wrote the information in the Morgansfort Adventure so I can give them credit. Also, I have used the picture of the Cleric of Tah in it as well. Its the only artwork so far. If I can get those two (or more) names, it would be much appreciated.

Re: Supplement Question
That is Solomoriah's work... I think he did just about everything himself for Morgansfort.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Re: Supplement Question
Okay, I put him on it. I guess he'll let me know if there is someone else that needs to be credited. I've posted my 1st draft in the workshop.

Re: Supplement Question
good to hear this. I have a play by post game running through morgansfort right now. Have one character interacting with the church right now.

Re: Supplement Question
Well, its not much now, but if you tell me which part of the church he's interacting with, I'll flesh it out first for you.

Re: Supplement Question
I've got three public domain pictures of some Puritans/Pilgrams. Could one of the resident artists give me a Fantasy rendition for the Free Church of Tah to go in my Supplement? All of the picures are from the US History Images website, so I don't really want to use them since I don't know the artist, or whether they are really public domain.

Re: Supplement Question
Cool idea to put the pilgrim-ish vibe on your idea. I like.

Re: Supplement Question
Yeah, and that shirt he's wearing is called a "Jack of Plates", and its actually a form of armor. Probably would be covered under the scale mail rules or something. This would be the perfect cleric, with the right flavor for the Free Church. I have some other ideas for visual stuff too, but for right now, I would like one of our artists' impression of these.
Here's a picture of Cotton Mather, to show the Bands he wears around his neck.

The bands the Puritans used were broader and extended out onto the shoulders a little more, but it was still a detachable collar.
Replace the guns in this picture, and you have a Free Church Worship Service. Man, I'm finding all kinds of inspiration here. I just can't use these pictures.
Edit: I did some more research on the bands (the white collar). They are called Cavalier Bands, or Falling Bands. Puritans and Pilgrims weren't the only ones who wore them. Cotton Mather, above, is wearing Preaching Bands, which are still in use in some churches today.

Re: Supplement Question - Art Request
Okay, I've done some research on the Pilgrims, the Puritans, and the Baroque period in general. Very interesting stuff. I've also done some research on church polity (how churches are organized) surrounding the Reformation. I think I've come up with a nice tweak for the Western Lands setting. Since its a frontier setting, we can go for a frontier settlement, with a wooden palisade surrounding it. We change the setting slightly to add in some Baroque Fashion, and (maybe, maybe not) add some muzzle-loaders in there as well. The Native Americans would be replaced with Shamanic Goblinoids. I'm thinking a sort of twist on the American Colonial Era. It can't be exact, but there can be quite a few elements of it.
Anyway, I'm still working on this. Some of this will go in the Church of Tah Supplement, but I might tweak the whole setting later to make it more Baroque and less Medieval. This is nothing new. Someone has already done this with 7th Sea. I just like doing research and playing around with stuff.

Sounds good but I would take care not to equate the Native Americans with and 'evil race'... just might be inferred as offensive to some... not me, as I know where you are coming from and going with this, but some might see it differently.shadowmane wrote:Okay, I've done some research on the Pilgrims, the Puritans, and the Baroque period in general. I think perhaps a better 'race' to take that place might be a Wood Elf sort of race, one that is largely anti-city, anti-human, generally anti-social... but won't get folks confused with an evil race like goblins or orcs or whatever.
