Re: Chapter 9
When Grumm was safely down, Shybolt descended behind him; Rykken, looking through the hole, watched the halfling climb down.
As Timorel waited, he thought he heard a noise from the entry room. A boot scraping on the floor, perhaps.

Re: Chapter 9
Timorel quickly sticks his head through the illusion and calls out, "Someone's coming!"
If the clearance between the door and the floor is small enough, in his estimation, he'll sprint to the door and wedge a spike between it and the floor as quickly as possible.
(OOC: I'll wait to see if he estimates the gap as too big and so doesn't try, or if he tries and is interrupted or fails, before declaring an alternative action.)

Shybolt shimmies back up the rope, pokes his head through the illusion and says, "You should come down. It would be quicker than all of us coming back up."

Re: Chapter 9
Rykken hisses to Timorel, "Come on, down the rope", and then scrambles down the rope after Shybolt as quickly as he can.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Re: Chapter 9
I assume Timorel would act before Shybolt could get topside, and that he wouldn't have heard Rykken since he didn't leave his head below the illusion long enough, so I'll wait for Solomoriah's response before declaring any further actions.

Re: Chapter 9
Timorel jammed a spike under the door, just before someone tried to open it. He heard cursing, in Dwarvish he thought, then someone threw his weight against the door. The spike held... for the moment.

Re: Chapter 9
Shybolt waits with his head above the illusion to see what timorrel does. If he plans to come down the rope he will slide down and get out of the way. If he plans to fight it out he will duck his head, call everyone up and then climb into the room and stand at his side, prepared to fight at the doorway, one dwarf at a time.
Re: Chapter 9
In the meantime, Grumm will be guarding the tunnel that extends from the watery pit-room-thingy beneath the illusion, just in case anything decides to slither in from that direction.

Re: Chapter 9
Rykken taps Grumm on the shoulder and whispers, "So, what are you watching out for?"
