What to do?
What to do?
I'm thinking about creating a WordPress blog to post pictures and updates of my group that is using the BF system. This would be better for me then a session podcast. Any suggestion on blog sites other then WordPress. My goal is to just make people aware of this system.

Re: What to do?
Did you build it from scratch or did tiki wiki have some templates to use?

Re: What to do?
Allright I now have a 2 problems:
1. I shouldn't have used zero level spells, my MU player keeps using knot for everything (choke, pull, tie). How do I limit the use of a spell that is meant to be use at anytime (Save vs Spell?)
2.What actions should a player be able to do during a round. Movement,Minor Action, Standard Action? Something like that........

Re: What to do?
I limit the ability of cantrips to things like +/- 1 on saves, a single point of damage, a minor distraction giving initiative, etc. all very minor.
If you don't like the number of such zero-level spells given out per the supplement (one per level + ability bonus), which is a lot as a few levels are achieved... then use the First level spell progression shifting up a level or two... effectively making the first level character only casting 2 cantrips + ability bonus, but with the progression going much much slower tracking consistently with the other spell levels....
... and yes, saves should apply as well if the spell is to affect a person in a meaningful way.

Re: What to do?
Let me give an example of what happened:
The magic user tries to cast the knot cantrip at a necromancer, after him doing this several times I just decided to have him roll vrs AC (later on it became me rolling vrs spell for NPC) and if it was a hit, the npc/monster couldn't move for one round. To cut this short I'll give a list of his whole turned.
1.PC moved
2. Cast his Cantrip and/or cast his readied spell
3.Standard Magic Attack
Allowing this made the fighter want more so
1.PC move
2. Minor Attack (1d4 kick or headbutt. He's a barbarian)
3. Normal Attack
I don't know what to do now.

Re: What to do?
no and no...
Despite what the zero-level spell document says, I don't allow casting of cantrips in addition to normal spells (or attacking for that matter). The purpose of Cantrips in my mind is just to give the low level MU/Cleric something to do before or after burning their one/few spells... something that still fits the class concept.
Likewise, I am not going to give fighters a bonus minor attack routine every round.
Things I do allow along with the main action (attack, cast, full defense, drink potion or use magical item) & movement routine:
sheath/unsheath a weapon
ready shield, stow shield
drop weapons, items, etc.
switch weapons (if sheaths or containers are available), otherwise drop
ready or switch to wands, potions, etc.
talk, send commands, communicate with familiars, etc.
...and all these things are within reason. Anything really wacky is going to be declined unless I really have a mind that the idea presented would work.
If I were you, tell your friends that you did research and looked for advice, and moving forward "this is how it is going to work", and that this decision was made to make the game run as smooth as possible for any future situations.
