Specifically, does anyone know of a good tutorial for game masters? After all, wouldn't it be nice to have a basic tutorial on how to build a quick spreadsheet with some quick reference items from a gamers point of view?
I've used Excel for some items professionally on a real basic level, and I just haven't been able to translate any of that effort into my gaming yet. Honestly, I don't enough about spreadsheets to really know what I want to do and how make my life easier. So if anyone has run across some basic tutorials online that might be handy for creating spreadsheets for GM'ing and would like to share, I'd be more than happy to help out with some grunt work putting things into a spreadsheet. I'm not as worried about character sheets, but having a spell list or monster list where I can just do a drop down selection would be kind of nice. I'm embarrassed to say, but thats a valuable life skill I never picked up (really making spreadsheets that are nice to use that is).

Sudsy.. I can't help with the tutorial but I do know there is an awesome open Office spreadsheet on the BFRPG downloads with all the monsters from the core rules as well as some from the field guide:

Well, the first step would be to try to articulate what exactly you want it to do or what you want from it. Once you throw some ideas out on the table we can start to put some stuff together. I wouldn't call my self an Excel/LibreOffice expert but if I had an idea of what you wanted I'd be willing to give it a shot and I'm sure I could come up with something.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Thanks for the start guys!
I'll see if I can't 'reverse engineer' and apply it to what I've been thinking about...

That's how I learn things as well. I either have to have something to motivate me to learn it or have something made for me to figure out.
