Hi I have been writing a bunch of solo RPG sessions which you read at https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/37786 ... y-solo-rpg
By SoloRPG I mean just one player who is also the DM.
I have only been using the Basic Fantasy RPG core-book for this? Are there any other resources you would recommend? I bought the Mythic Game Master Emulator but honestly, I am not too sure how to use it effectively. I also bought a book with tables to make dungeons called Classic Dungeon Design. It gave me some ideas and I feel like it will be useful.
Are there any basic fantasy solo RPG sessions I could read as a reference?
Whenever in doubt about how some characters will do something I just resolve it with some rolls. It is a bit hard to have the characters act in ways which are not affected by my knowledge as the DM as well... For example, obviously, I know how many HP enemies have.
Do you think I should use adventure modules/supplements like Morgansfort and try to play them solo, or is it better if I just coming up with stuff as I go along, using a chart to roll against to decide whether to go with what I came up or not?

Re: How Can I Improve My Solo RPG Adventure?
I have done a few one shot solo sessions myself so I know how you feel. I ended up sidelining the Mythic GME after a short while and went with a simple d6 oracle (yes,no,but). I had far better success with a simple oracle over one like Mythic.
Another tool to use for your solo sessions is Black Streams Solo Heroes. It has a few cool combat overlays to reduce lethality which has been nice.
As for knowing hit points one thing I started doing was after a round of combat I would ask the oracle if the enemy is still alive. This way it removes me knowing how many hit points they have and makes combat unpredictable.
I have also used some tools from Wizardawn to generate dungeons and cities. (I suggest dungeon door for quick gen dungeons. If you print it out it gives you all the random tables to do a dungeon crawl on the fly)
If I want to go truly random with it I just use dice to generate structures and play everything at random.

Re: How Can I Improve My Solo RPG Adventure?
A part from my Solo experience with Basic Fantasy. I've only struck myself to use a simple d6 oracle, random tables and other aspects to help the game.
My current character is apart of a pre-made area called Valley of the Conquered King. Which I will say with the oracle that I got using BFRPG and using this. It has got me far and I've enjoyed much of it.
I'd look into youtubers that help with bits and pieces with Solo gameplay. Allow yourself to not only make a character, but have a reason the world around them exist. I can send ya a character occupation document that a buddy of mines has made, which helps know what kind of character they are. The biggest thing I can say is start a session with a bit of action rather than parts where it gets you no where.
