Re: FELISIANS: A Cat-Person Race
Fun Stuff - always liked some humanoid-animal type races.
Considerations: 1/2 damage on falls (even if failed save), 1/4 damage if save is successful.
9 lives - if some sort of death's door mechanic is used (negative HP), then when a Felisian is taken into negative HP range, it will still drop unconscious normally, but will no longer lose HP for up to one hour per level. During these bonus hours, it may be healed/revived normally. If left to die a Felisian will ultimately pass after this time period expires.
Mortal enemies of most Caneins; they just don't seem to get along no matter what.

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Thanks so much! These are definitely "cat" like. Maybe I'll swap out the improved initiative for the falls.SmootRK wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 9:36 am Fun Stuff - always liked some humanoid-animal type races.

Also, maybe the "Nine Lives" ability could be an improved Death save? Just to keep things streamlined.

Re: FELISIANS: A Cat-Person Race
Heh. If you are willing to add the required accounting, really make it Nine Lives.
Give a significant bonus to Death Saves. Can be static or slowly decreasing. But, once they get to number 9 (for their tenth life) the modifier becomes either massively negative or a guaranteed fail.
That way the "Nine" in Nine Lives means something ...

I prefer Friskies myself.

Re: FELISIANS: A Cat-Person Race
I think a negative reaction modifier would be best, may be fun to have both in the same party. There are dogs and cats that get along, soy even better would be left that to the player choice.Mortal enemies of most Caneins; they just don't seem to get along no matter what.

Re: FELISIANS: A Cat-Person Race
I have read through this a few time, and one of the things I keep coming back too is "climbing." I'm not super familiar with cats. I'm super allergic so don't have any in my house. However, when I think of cats - I think pouncing, not climbing!
So I was thinking that maybe they should be really good jumpers, maybe able to leap double or triple. Further, they should be able to drop from huge heights without damage. Maybe something like 30' + 10' per dex bonus.
Anyway, just my take on it. Plus, I think it would be pretty original AND it reinforces the +2 saving throws, because the felisian is just jumping out of the way!

Let me think about it. I was thinking of jungle cats resting in trees.Rosisha wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 9:18 am I have read through this a few time, and one of the things I keep coming back too is "climbing." Quick edit comments:
- third paragraph under history - "Intelligen" needs the T
- Why the death save benefit?
