Running Morgansfort once again

Post Sat Nov 07, 2020 9:48 am

I could've added this onto my .odt files post from yesterday, but eck. I'm planning on getting into Morgansfort once again after just only standing by as a player and taking time from not feel drained of energy. Though I feel I'm just putting confusion upon myself as to running Morgansfort with the core rules or a d6 system I have that allows for conversion to use Morgansfort with the d6 system. I know this is more of a thing I have a hard time with and its for the fun of the game. Though would it not be Basic Fantasy anymore if all I'm using is the Morgansfort material? I don't want to have to put my players on a ferris wheel.

I've had my players jump in and run a few sessions. As a DM, it's been a LIFESAVER. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Also, I learn a lot about how to (hopefully) do a better job next time. Right now one of my players is running for a few weeks. I've listened to him do a great job with combat descriptions and need to remember that. He's running with a, well, later edition, but the narrative skills are the same. I learned a lot from a session I played in with Solomoriah as a DM. What a great opportunity.

And if you are running using another system, that's great in my book. I've written adventures and would be thrilled if folks ran them in whatever system. One thing to consider if you ever decide to switch: BFRPG is great for running online. The system is familiar to most players and ALL of the materials are there at their fingertips. It's like the lingua franca of fantasy roleplaying.

That is kinda what im undecided about. I haven't read the rules in a long while after only just jumping in and out of games. The oppurtunity me wanting to take of being a DM can kinda shut me down some days. I know we learn and stuff as we go along, but idk. I should kinda let go of those bad thoughts about not remembering a thing or stumping something.

Edit: I should also mention I kinda end up trying to solo Basic Fantasy as a whole, but I kinda get drained from it

When in doubt: have them roll to see if they get under their ability score. Another quick option is to roll a 1d6:

1-3: Things work in the player's favor
4-6: They don't

Ah I see, I'll use this option when in doubt, well I'll probably loosen up and run the game with morgansfort.

So as I'm working on prepping, I have a Roll20 page set up and notably for the dungeons provided in the module. Do i recreate them through mapmatic+2, upload them as photos or just describe the dungeon as it goes. because I'm going through voice chat on discord. the possibility of doing mapping or not could lend it to be less work for the players.
