I voted, fyi, for Pluralistic Innovation, but it was a close one. I was teetering between that and "style of play". It's definitely not nostalgia for me. I played some Mentzer D&D in the early nineties but I played way more Runequest and free form story games than anything else, and quite a bit of 5e before settling on BFRPG. I'm 35 so I'm too young to have nostalgia for early eighties gaming. I was drawn to the OSR because of the dynamic, creative and seemingly endless amount of content.

I voted for nostalgia, even though due to my age I wasn't around for most of it back then (and the part I was I was really young). This is still the key for me, as the OSR and recently dungeon synth music has really tapped something that's hard to explain, but it just clicks for me.

For this site, forum, and game specifically, I would have voted for the DIY collaborative nature, as I believe we have far more than excelled at that!

I voted for the 'style of play' and 'DIY collaberative nature', I will say because I got into the OSR wasn't that it was for nostalgia as I never grew up around D&D, but it is more for what the OSR is as a community that creates new things that are being made for those that use the systems. I think also from what I heard/believe of 'style of play' is that to treat the game as a framework rather than hard and fast rules. Which I felt in my mind was more freshing to learn of tweaking the game how I wanted to play. Though also the importance that combat isn't always going to be easy as creatures are more lethal and gathering Treasure for XP (being optional for BFRPG) was more important that made it less so you fought things anywhere you go. That's just what I've gathered up and learned, however.

I hit the "style of play the rules encourage" and it looks like majority have as well so far

I personally do not see how that folks play the more rules heavy types of systems. Having to stop and look at rules and guides and such really bogs things down and can absolutely kill the fun.

On a positive note, I like how that OSR tends to encourage critical thinking about situations. There's just no telling what a PC can do with a ten foot pole, some spikes, and a long rope.

As a GM, it's also so much easier to work with OSR material and modules because there is not a lot of conversion required. Just knowing a few stats and rules makes it work . . . everything else can be improvised on the fly

Add a tentacle worm and grappling hook and you can go fishing for kraken. :D
