Shybolt found some evidence that the heavy chair had, in fact, been moved several times, but never very far from the iron ring.

Grumm poked around in the scorched remains. He found nothing interesting.

Grumm will check the walls of the room out for secret doors - look for drafts, check for odd cracks, etc.

Shybolt will leave the chair for the time being and also check the room for secret doors, niches and other hideaways.

"The smoke must must have gone somewhere." Brother Arven says from the hall.

Up the hall, Brother Arven is still standing amid smoke, coughing and hacking. Only the room is clear.

Hacking and coughing, Brother Arven realizes that he is having difficulty breathing in the smoke. He then moves to just inside the doorway to be able to get air. (must have been the smoke in my eyes).
He can watch the hall just fine from there as well.

Grumm and Shybolt searched the room diligently. Something didn't look right about the back wall of the room to Shybolt, and after some study he managed to spy the faintest outline of what might be a secret door, centered on that wall.

He was about to call out his discovery when Timorel thought he heard footsteps approaching in the hallway...

Shybolt readies his bow and moves to hide behind the throne. he'll position himself to be able to see down the hallway as well as give the smallest view of himself from the hallway.

Grumm will have his glaive ready. He'll hide on one side of the door.
