Near Future Planning

Post Sat Nov 26, 2011 7:52 pm

I posted a while back about modules I thought we needed. But just because we need one doesn't mean we get it... that's not how creativity works.

If nobody finds anything wrong with BF2 in the next week, I'll go ahead and post it on Lulu.com for sale. We should have it available for Christmas that way, at least in paperback.

Next, I'll be pulling down the sad little sketch that is BF3 Dream of the White Hawk and replacing it with BF3 The Great Desert. The Great Desert will combine my Lost Pyramid and Tower of Light adventures. I'll admit, I ad-libbed a lot running both of them... the first version uploaded will have a lot of gaps in it. But like I said, creativity doesn't follow the plan, so you better make the plan follow creativity. Dream of the White Hawk, realistically, may never be finished... I didn't write enough of any of the sub-adventures down, and I'm just not motivated to work on it.

I have two "one page adventures" from Dave Gerard which I'll be uploading soon; they aren't one page long after I get done with them. They'll be joining the Adventure Anthology Series, but I'm numbering them 2.1 and 2.2 rather than continuing the 1.x line. I may end up renumbering some of the AA1.x modules to AA2.x if they don't get playtested and/or edited in time for the first collected Adventure Anthology multimodule... but I don't know when I'll be getting that put together either.

J.D. Neal's JN1 Chaotic Caves and JN2 Monkey Isle are both basically ready to go. I'd love a bit more artwork for them, but it's not critical; what I do really need is cover pieces for both. Then I can see about getting them uploaded as the first (and second) Basic Fantasy Project modules not primarily written by me. This makes me happy... I never want this to be a one-man show.

I guess that's all I have to say. If anyone sees any point at which they'd like to jump in, just let me know.

Given my love for Keep on the Borderlands (using even now with kids), I would really love to see the Chaotic Caves in print... likewise for Monkey Island.

If you were wanting another project, seeing the Field Guide put together and bound (even if only staple bound) would be really exciting.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

I just posted the new BF3 The Great Desert (and took down Dream of the White Hawk, as I said I would). I also posted a new Adventure Anthology Series module, Taming the Flame by Dave Gerard. I have another of his in the pipeline to come out soon.

I hope you guys enjoy 'Taming the Flames'. A big thanx to Chris for taking the time to convert it to the BFRPG format and giving it a good editing once over.

It takes a lot of work and time to flesh out any idea. I'm collecting occasional ideas to use as-needed...
