Tannen steadies himself and bides his time, waiting for the perfect time to thrust his longsword through Bandit 2's defences.

Assuming he doesn't get cut down...
Mandross will make an attempt to get by Morward, mostly by trying to look harmless and pathetic, and slipping off. "Not the face, not the face!" usually works well.
But before he slips away, he'll shout "Guess what I took", and (defensively withdraw style) retreat up the hall towards the sleepers, and avoid melee with #8 if he still lives. If Morward actually watches me, I'll pull that stack of maps and parchment from my jacket, with a smile.
(I'm keeping count on this - There should be three rounds left, including this one. I intend to deal with them, but I want to try and get Morward off focus a little - and if he comes after me, I'm gonna try to get him after me for a bit. leg it for a bit.)

Paladin creeps up behind Bandit 8 ['Move Silently' roll: 13 - success!]. He plunges his shortsword into the back of Bandit 8 [modified "to hit" roll, including the +4 bonus for a Sneak Attack: 24 - hit! for 4 x 2 = 8 damage]. Blimey! Blood everywhere! Bandit 8 won't be troubling you anymore.Iain_IF wrote:Paladin scurries out of hiding and into the intersection behind bandit 8. He'll then draw his shortsword and backstab him.
Taking the dagger, Alma says "I'll deal with the sleeping bandits, you go help your friends." And with that she moves north up the corridor and, without hesitating, slits the throat of Bandit 4._Silveredged wrote:Hiker slides his dagger to Alma while drawing the sword to attack the bandit in melee range.
Hiker's only available target is Morward (I'll assume you advance into melee rather than risking the potential repercussions of a missing missile). Karl's longsword feels very unfamiliar to Hiker, but he wields it as best as he can [modified "to hit" roll: 18 - hit! for 1 damage]. Again, it's merely a scratch that Morward ignores.
The battle isn't going quite as well as the bandits hoped. Having lost more than half their number, they consider their options [rolls]. With all the bandits to his north dead or asleep, and those to the south trapped in the cave with Tannen and the elves, Morward decides that he'd rather live to fight another day. He turns, and begins to flee north. Both Mandross and Hiker may make a "parting shot" [modified "to hit" rolls: 8 and 18 respectively]. Mandross misses, but Hiker catches Mandross with his longsword for 6 damage.
Paladin and Alma may also strike the fleeing bandit leader as he rushes past them [modified "to hit" rolls: 6 and 19]. Paladin, somewhat stunned by the success of his backstab, is too slow, but Alma takes the opportunity to get some revenge on her captor and stabs him with Hiker's dagger for 4 damage.
By now Morward is clear and running, heading towards the southerly cave entrance. He's looking considerably the worse for wear though, bleeding profusely from the wounds inflicted by Hiker and Alma.
Meanwhile the three bandits in the southerly cave drop their weapons and put their hands in the air.
The banging to the north continues.

"Get these scum into the cells!!" Tannen yells to the others, before sprinting northwards after the retreating Morward. "Hiker, follow me... and bring your bow."

Re: Season 1 - Episode 6: The Bandit Caves
(OOC: Apparently, you do not want to get on Alma's bad side.)
Mandross is rather happy he did not have to use his "not the face technique" this battle. He eyes his sleeping enemies, and turns to Nivek: "I think the elves can handle those three. May I have your assistance with the sleepers?"
He will head up to deal with the sleeping bandits. (Take their weapons to put them in cells when they wake, or brain them where they lay - either works for him. He's in a vindictive mood after getting shot.) Seeing Paladin and his bow, he speaks. "Master halfling, go with the others and hunt."
(edit: Morward ventilates the sleeping bandit on the right)

Re: Season 1 - Episode 6: The Bandit Caves
Paladin will drop his sword and follow behind morward, firing his shortbow into him whenever he has a clear line of sight.
Re: Season 1 - Episode 6: The Bandit Caves
Nivek nods to Mandross, and proceeds to flatten the skulls of those left, with short prayer before each strike, "May your spirit be prepared for Reforging at the Forge Lord's Hand, (and return with a bit more wisdom to follow a proper path)."
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?
