Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Nivek waits for a melee target to present itself, eyeing Tannen to see when he thinks it is time to rush forward.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Tanen waits for the first goblin to enter the north south corridor. Hopefully it will be tripped and prone on the floor, but regardless Tannen will engage it in melee the instant in sets foot in the corridor. Tannen's primary thought is to make sure the halflings are not put at too much risk.
Goblin Battle in the Coastwood Caves - Round 4
Hiker waits for his moment, repeating his mantra under his breath ... rope, wait, goblins trip, hit goblins ... rope, wait, goblins trip, hit goblins.
The first goblins come hurtling around the corner. Like the two you lured down here a minute ago they’re unarmoured. However, they are now brandishing shortswords. Only one of them, Goblin 7, gets close enough to activate the rope trap. Hoping that Karl is holding on tight, Hiker pulls as hard as he can in attempt to trip the goblin. [Rolls]. It works like a dream, and the goblin falls in a heap in front of Paladin, Hiker and Doughbert.
With the trap activated, Karl drops the rope, draws his longsword and steps forward to engage Goblin 4 [roll: 6 + 1 (attack bonus) + 1 (strength) = 8: miss]. He stumbles slightly on the rope that’s now lying on the tunnel floor and his swipe misses the goblin.
Meanwhile, more goblins appear at the western end of the short tunnel.
By this time, Paladin is much too close to the action for his liking. He fires his arrow at the prone Goblin 7 at near point blank range [roll: 15 + 1 (attack bonus) + 2 (dexterity) + 1 (halfling) + 1 (short range) + 2 (prone opponent) = 22: hit! for 5 damage]. Paladin adds another kill to his growing tally.
Nivek barges past Hiker to have a crack at Goblin 4 with his mace. [roll: 18 + 1 (attack bonus) + 1 (strength) = 20: hit! for 8 + 1 (strength) = 9 damage]. That’s another one down.
In his present position, Doughbert’s shot is blocked by Karl, so he steps forward and to the right so that he has a clear view of Goblin 10 [roll: 4 + 1 (attack bonus) + 1 (dexterity) + 1 (halfling) + 1 (short range) = 7: miss]. His arrow misses the goblin and thuds into the cavern wall behind.
Yet more goblins appear around the corner.
Tannen moves to the front and swings at Goblin 8 [roll: 11 + 1 (attack bonus) + 2 (strength) = 14: hit! for 5 + 2 (strength) = 7 damage]. The third goblin in quick succession is slaughtered.
The round concludes with the arrival of two more goblins.
Updated tactical map at: https://sites.google.com/site/marketstonecampaign/. I’ve removed the dead bodies for clarity.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Paladin will try to arc an arrow over the dwarf into the massed goblins. He'll also squeal, Light the oil! Light the oil!
Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Doughbert will light his wicked oil flask from where ever the torch is and fling it at the middle row of the gobs. Need to stir up some frenzy back there and maybe kill one to boot. If we're lucky it will fall into the oil thats must be being trekked everywhere.

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Tannen withdraws defensively back into the main corridor past Karl (assuming that Joe allows movement through friendly squares) and adjacent to the west wall, holding out his torch to Doughbert so that he can light the wick on his flask of oil. "Throw the oil to their rear!! Everyone wait out here and let them come to us!" Tannen screams as adrenaline surges through his body.
[If Joe doesn't allow movement though a friendly square Tannen will pass the torch back and attack goblin10.]

Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Karl now knows that he is the front line and he must hold. He pulls back against the wall so that the group can form a killing box, like he's done with brigands in the militia, more swords against fewer swords... "Get out of the way," he says to the archer, Paladin, who is blocking Nivek's withdrawal.

Movement through enermy squares is not allowed, nor through the squares adjacent to an enemy (except perhaps behind an enemy if it is otherwise engaged).
Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Hiker draws his hammer and awaits the goblins arrival, grimacing and emulating Karl....as the action is fast and furious, a tad much for the less than wily Hiker, he waits for an obvious target of a goblin to show itself.
