Re: Chapter 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Paladin watches the others run off. He shrugs, unties Jumbles, climbs up him, and ambles off after them, bow in hand.
Re: Chapter 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Meanwhile, back on the ground...Hiker continues bleeding.
Coastwood Wolves - Rounds 4 - 8
Round 4
Initiative
Dougbert: 3 + 1 (dexterity) + 1 (halfling) = 5.
Wolf 2: 5.
Wolf 1: 1.
Wolf 3: 1.
Hiker: unconsicous
Doughbert continues his fighting withdrawal, attacking Wolf 1 whilst edging south towards his approaching comrades [13 + 1 = 14: another hit!]. The little halfling is showing Hiker how it’s done (if only Hiker was conscious to witness it). This time for 2 damage.
In retaliation, the three wolves swarm around Doughbert, stepping over and around the fallen Hiker. Wolf 1 misses outright, the bite from Wolf 3 fails to penetrate Doughbert’s armour, but Wolf 2 finds it’s mark [5 damage] and the halfling goes the way of his companion.
Hiker loses a further hit point and is now on -2. Doughbert is on -3.
Nivek, Tannen and Karl are now 140 yards away. Interestingly, an ambling Jumbles with Paladin on his back moves at the same speed as a sprinting Tannen! So the halfling and his faithful steed are able to keep up.
Round 5: Doughbert drops to -4 hit points, Hiker to -3. The reminder of the party are 100 yards away.
Round 6: Doughbert drops to -5 hit points, Hiker to -4. The others close to 60 yards.
Round 7: Doughbert = -6 hit points; Hiker = -5 hit points. Nivek at el. are only 20 yards distant. Through the trees you can now just see the wolves standing between you their dinner.
Round 8: Nivek, Tannen, Karl and the mounted Paladin arrive on the scene. The combat will resume in earnest next round …
[Sorry … that’s all I have time for just at the moment … got to get back to work
. You can let me have your options for round 9 and I’ll continue later]
Doughbert: HP (-7/5) … will die at -10
Hiker: HP (-6/9) … will die at -14

Re: Chapter 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Nivek will charge right up to engage wolves in melee, in fact, if opportunity presents (without extra attacks upon himself) he will maneuver to where he is on the opposite side of wolves (between the wolves and his fallen comrades). This might take a couple of rounds of combat/maneuvering.
"Here doggie!! I gotta treat for ya!!" Nivek yells while hefting his mace and giving it a couple of test swings.

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

*spurt*
Doughbert continues his defensive unconsciousness tactic.

Re: Chapter 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
Hiker is only able to dream of Doughberts fighting prowess...and then he proceeds with yet more bleeding

[If you can get within 10' of Doughbert, a Cure Minor Wounds to stop the bleeding might be appreciated ...]SmootRK wrote:Nivek will charge right up to engage wolves in melee, in fact, if opportunity presents (without extra attacks upon himself) he will maneuver to where he is on the opposite side of wolves (between the wolves and his fallen comrades). Re: Chapter 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife
As Karl broke through enough brush to see their adversary, he cursed, "Wolves."
"The line is formed and ready, sir," Karl, sword at a crisp military ready said to Tannen.
Karl stood ready to do his job despite the fear. Strike to the neck above the joining at the shoulder
"Keep yer shields high," he mumbled for no apparent reason.
[ooc: Karl will move as one with Tannen, striking at whatever wolf gets in front of Tannen, not himself.]
