Chapter 5: The Rescue

[Solomoriah]

1. Plea for help; 2. A door 10' in, will map it tomorrow.

Thanks. In that case, I will move to his side and cut his ropes, but for now leave him gagged. If he is able to stand I will help him best I can and with a finger to my lips and a look toward the door, encourage him to move south down the passage with me. If we get back to the others I will remove the gag and ask about the girl.

Grumm will be watching Shybolt and Harald intent on signs of trouble.

[Sir Bedivere]

Once it seems clear and Shybolt has moved to cut Harald's bonds, Timorel will quietly move up in case they are attacked.

[Solomoriah]

Harald could hardly stand when Shybolt had freed him, but he moved as quickly and quietly as he could, his eyes darting around madly. He didn't seem to realize he was still gagged until he reached the rest of the party.

When the gag was removed, he croaked out "Save her. They're gonna kaff kaff sacrifice her to their kaff god!"

Brother Arven pulls Grumm aside and whispers to him "We have a dire problem, I doubt if we have the strength to attempt a rescue, but we cannot risk the time necessary to gain the spells and rest. I would imagine our impetuous little friend will rush right in, but it is likely that we will lose some if not all of our party if we do so without preparation. What we need at least is a plan so cunning you put a tail on it and call it a weasel."

Timorel covers Shybolt and Harald's retreat back to the party. He keeps a lookout down the hall, ready to cast Sleep (if it's a bunch of trogs) or launch an arrow (if it's one or two).

[Hywaywolf]

"Where are they holding her?" Shybolt asks. "Is she beyond that door up there?" Shybolt points up the passage they just came down.

[Solomoriah]

"Yeah, in there..." he said, punctuating it with a cough.

[Hywaywolf]

"well?" asks Shybolt, looking at the others. "Go in or turn back? We could prepare sleep and flaming oil flasks and toos em in as we open the door."
