Chapter 3: Trying Again

Shybolt will move back up to the door and check the door and lock for traps. If he finds none he will attempt to pick the lock taken great care not to touch the blood.

When Shybolt gives me the okay, I'll open the door. Grumm's question to the others - which he will ask quietly - "Am I using the handle or my foot?"

Arven whispers back "Like you said, they probably know we are here so why take a chance, just kick it in. If the Lord favors us perhaps they will still be surprised."

[Sir Bedivere]

I don't think I would care for any of that blood on me, not even my boots, but it's your choice. I can't imagine we'll surprise anything on the other side however you open it.

Although I didn't note it earlier, Timorel has dropped the trog finger.

Grumm: "Stand back, knock your arrows - I'm going to kick."

Sorry, been busy, will update tomorrow. Grumm, Shybolt has declared that he will try to pick it, so I'll hold off on your action until I judge his.

(OOC: perhaps he meant that he was going to kick me?)

OOC - only if you fail to pick the lock - spare the rod, spoil the halfling

Shybolt found no signs of any traps, at least any traps he could understand; so, he pulled out his thieves' tools and began gingerly picking at the lock, keeping his hands away from the door. There was a loud click, and smiling, Shybolt withdrew his bloody tools from the lock.

Before I deal with Grumm's actions, I need to know what Shybolt does next.

Shybolt will ease back behind Grumm, put away his tools and pull out his sword. Then say to Grumm, "No need to kick it in, my friend. It is now unlocked."
