BFRPG has no explicit rules for buying or selling items. When I want to compare rules, I usually look at LL, which also lacks them. My vague recollection is that B/X also lacked them.
So: do you allow players to buy and/or sell magic items? So far, I have restricted my players from doing so, at least away from a major city, but I think it's caused some consternation from time to time.
In addition to opinions, I was wondering if Chris had any specific "designer intent" in this regard, since it appears that he prefers the "hardcore" option whenever possible.

The AD&D 1st edition DMG may be of help too, if you have a copy.
