Edward yells, "You'll not take Shaha!" and immediately pulls and swings his shovel at the nearest attacker to Shaha.

[Woe]

Are there six men or five?

Roll for initiative! Elizabeth will stab the nearest to her. All of the gang is in front of us?

[Mint]

As time resumes and Edward whirls about he trips over one of the upright cobbles which he hadn't noticed before because as far as he (or anyone else) was concerned they were all placidly lying properly flat only an instant before.

For the nonce this matters not at all because our would be thugs are staring bug eyed at the world around them as snow starts to fall on their mint twigged heads. Since to a man their hair is standing up straight as can be the falling snowflakes more often than not find their scalps which, warm, melts them and so run down their faces in trickles before promptly freezing up again. Of the five ruffians two have themselves fallen to the ground with twisted ankles.

The leader blinks, collects himself, looks inquiringly at his lads, nods, and clearing his throat, croaks out, "Well me buckos. It seems that Lady Fate herself has takin' an unnatcherel likin' to yer and me bein' a simple man with simple needs - among them the preservatin' of me hide - I be reckonin' that this here be a sign that this day you walk free as it were." With that he and his men back away, careful to look before they take each step.

[Longman]

William gets his bow and points it at one of the men, firing if need be.

[Hywaywolf]

Edward pulls himself up off the ground and shakes his head worriedly, "I don't understand, but the lady is safe so we should get out of here before more trouble arises."

[Woe]

"Yeah... that sounds like a good idea." With a few clandestine glances at Shaha, Elizabeth resumes the path to the tavern.

Kynndelic stares around quite surprised as if things had flashed around him.
"Are things ever so... lively in human towns?"
He resumes walking towards the tavern holding faster to his spear and eyeing his comrades nervously.

Edward follows closely behind Shala watching for other louts out for trouble.

[Longman]

William:

I'll cover everyone else, while they all back away. (Seems like we are letting the ruffians skulk off). I'll make a note of the name of the street we are on, or at least, get a few landmarks so I could direct someone back here.

As soon as we have Shaha to a safe place (the Tavern) I'm going to report the ruffian's presence to the local watch, promising to help eradicate them if need be.

THEN, finally, sausages.

(I think my character must be very lawful. This is not normal for me).
