1st game of BFRPG
1st game of BFRPG
Howdy All!
Woot - received my (printed) Basic Fantasy books last Friday and ran a 1st game of it yesterday. Lotta fun, and my (2) players signed up for a monthly game. Hopefully have another two players to drag into the mix.
It wasn't quite a "first" game - everyone's old hand at playing, and has played basic D&D in the past.
Great time though - got through setting discussion, character generation, and the entire 1st adventure (pulled from AA1, by the way) in that one session.
Looking forward to more.

Sounds like things are rolling along. Good job. Which one did you run from aa1?

Cool man! I'm pretty much in the same boat - been playing for years, but only recently picked up BFRPG for a brand new campaign. The core book is an absolute steal at four dollars, particularly since it has everything in it - classes to level 20, magic items, monsters, etc etc.BrianEye wrote:Howdy All!

I especially love how the elegant simplicity of the rules allows you to remove or graft on whatever rules you wish. I'm using third edition rules for skill checks and combat, and it works seamlessly with the rest of the rules. Awesome game!

I hacked Ruin of Darkfir Castle (from AA1).

Woot - tomorrow is the 2nd game. Both players returning, plus a new player.
And I get to use my recently arrived Kickstarted Blue Dungeon Tiles, by Red Kobold.

Totally. I'm sitting here, putting more planning time into the campaign. Among other things, I'm sketching up my hand drawn (well, hand filled hexes) 1 hex = 6 mi regional and 1 hex = .5 mi (2640 ft) local maps (nested hex style).
Been. A. While.

It'll be great!
The Hooded Man will come to the forest, there to meet with Herne the Hunter, to be his son and do his bidding.
