Re: Campaign Settings
I have a rather full blown setting I've been developing for some time now referred to as The Eastern Lands. Basically, there are a few minor Dwarf holds (and one fairly decent kingdom); an ancient and hidden Elf kingdom; a kingdom founded by adventurers for adventurers; a decaying and weakened old kingdom; a recent khanate that wrecked everything just a generation or two earlier; a few minor petty principalities. This is where I tend to add the most of my mojo to.
And the thing is, this is just 1/3 of the one continent I have fleshed out. Another third is home to centaurs, a Holy Roman Empire analogue on the verge of self-destruction, a 'kingdom' of the fey and another ancient elf kingdom (this one powered by crystals and magic and based heavily on a high fantasy version of Atlantis/Lemuria/Mu).
The last 1/3 has a caliphate of catfolk, dwarven ex-slave 'kingdoms', a sultanate in league with the caliph (but not submissive to it), one more elf kingdom (this one is ruled by the 'dark' elves who are decadent, rich, corrupt, and hold slaves. So not too far off the mark of the drow save their skin color isn't actually black/purplish black), and a few petty kingdoms that are fashioned on old Spain and Italy. All of this is set on one continent of 5, though the other three play very little role (though the humans love to bring up legends of their mighty homeland continent which may or may not exist <.< ).

Re: Campaign Settings
That sounds really fun to game in.

The Eastern Lands is fleshed out, but sadly I've only ran a mere handful of games in it. The party always falls apart after the first adventure it seems T-T-1warrior wrote:That sounds really fun to game in.
That said, it is a pretty cool setting according to my players.

Re: Campaign Settings
Well, maybe in a bit I'll get the A-OK to start a PBP here with that as the setting. Right now it's built mostly on Pathfinder rules (my group here play that), but I keep it vague enough to be easily converted to other rules and such. BFRPG would actually fit it very well.

Re: Campaign Settings
I don't know if I could play in another PBP since I'm starting to GM one. I also play in another one. I'm a busy person.

Re: Campaign Settings
At the moment I'm trying to come up with a campaign setting that will suit both my own creative needs and serve to engage a very small group of players. I very much like the simplicity and clarity of BFRG's game mechanics so I'm going to be using them extensively but at the same time random generation is going to be nearly none existent.
As to the world and setting itself at the moment I'm playing with the idea of having a world where the indigenous races all died off long ago leaving extensive ruins. This other world is in an alternate universe where electromagnetism doesn't exist but in its place there is a form of etheric energy or mana that can be used through extensive mental training. Just recently a way between our world and that world opened up. A single small town has been built by a entrepreneur for the purpose of catering to those seeking the thrill of exploration, adventure, and the finding of unusual things. This entrepreneur has sole control of the Gate between the worlds.
Very tentative idea at this point but I'm working on the details.

Re: Campaign Settings
If electromagnetism doesn't work, how would the nervous system of the visitors to that universe work?
