Rykken quickly jumps in to help as well.

Opyeen readies his mace while the other three grab the rope and start pulling. In a few seconds Sturm, with one hand sticking out and holding onto the rope, is drawn up out of the hole. As soon as the thing wrapped around the dwarf is visible Opyeen strikes. *swish-whack!*. A nice solid hit causes some damage.

The creature responds by squeezing down on Sturm.

(Sturm if you've got a dagger handy in there you can use it.)

((I am going to assume its safe to let go of the rope now. If not sorry Sturm!))

Lianna lets go of the rope and pulls he bow and readies and arrow. On her next turn she will fire at the amorphous monster.

Sturm makes a mental note to pick up a dagger for just such an occasion in the future.. provided he has a future...

Hermia puts down the rope too and draws her sword, looking for an angle to thrust that will minimize the chances of poking through into Sturm.

Rykken will draw his dagger and attempt to damage the monster while trying to refrain from injuring Sturm (too much).

Hermia draws steel and slashes at the monster holding Sturm captive. *whish-slash!* She draws blood.

Rykken then steps forward to plunge his blade into the beast *stab-gouge!* Blood is drawn again by the CoS.

While Sturm struggles inside and tries not to get skewered by his companions Lianna fires her bow. *pffft-THOCK!* An excellent shot forces the Mimic into convulsions. (nat 20)

Opyeen steps up and with a powerful round house swing.... *whosh-splat!* He connects once again with the creature.

The Mimic has one last trick to play as it convulses in death, a crushing spasm against the only opponent it can affect. *crunch* Sturm takes additional damage and is still trapped within the dead creature.

Thinking quickly Rykken remembers something about alcohol being the only thing that will dissolve the adhesive inside the Mimic and get Sturm out. Or they can cut air holes and wait the 15 seconds or so it takes for the adhesive to dissolve naturally.

(Each of you take 195xp for killing the Mimic.)

Rykken quickly yells, "Does anyone have any alcohol? We need to get this thing off of Sturm."
