Sorry, I was really busy last night. I'll post after work tonight.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Ok, here is what I would like to do if everyone is so inclined. I don't think Sturm has a crossbow, so I will loan him mine. Since I don't think Sturm and Hermia can reach the bad guys in one round, I suggest they move in their full movement then fire their crossbows. We should ease the door open and quietly move in as far as we can before our entrance is noticed then Oypeen will give a shrill rebel elven yell to strike fear into their hearts (hopefully gaining surprise). He will move into immediately engage after Sturm and Hermia move up and fire their crossbows (both at the same creature). If the one they attack is still standing he will attack that one. If it falls, Oypeen will attack the next one standing. Rykken can fire magic missile, throw a dagger or whatever offensive action he wants to take. Sturm and Hermia can then try to move into melee range the next round (or cock and fire their crossbow to entice the 'guards' to come to them.) Oypeen will start a fighting withdrawal back to the group.

Alternatively, Rykken can cast invisibility on either Sturm or Hermia and they can slip into melee range behind one of the 'guards'. Oypeen rushes in and whoever has the better range bonus can fire a crossbow. Or stick to the original plan, only Rykken has cast invisibility on Oypeen and he moves into position behind a 'guard', waits until they just notice someone is entering the room and shout and attack from behind, hopefully startling them into surprise.

I saw that. I know that jandalar told me that he was going to be away for a couple of days so his checking in might be spotty. I think I will send MM the first post in the creation thread.

I agree with determining what lays in wait for us before charging in, but its been my experience that rarely do you get a chance to look around a room with beasties in it without being noticed once you open a door. Unless you are invisible and even then you have to open a door.

So how about Rykken casts invisibility on sturm since his first swing has the potential to do 4-13 hp of damage. If from behind he'll have an at least +8 to hit, possibly more depending on how Jandolar approaches swinging at a sitting figure who doesn't know its coming. Oypeen can close 40' in one round in case he doesn't drop him so he isn't faced with 2 or 1 odds. If when he first goes in there are more, he can come signal to us the number and continue or return as he judges. Only problem is it will take him a long time to cover any distance at 10' per round.

I sent a message to Solo to get MM access to our game. I've also sent MM a message saying the same thing. I'll roll his stat line and magic item once he's actually shown up to being generating a character.

*fingers crossed*

LL,
This is what the rules state on charging: "Finally, the attacker must be using a weapon such as a spear, lance, or pole arm which is suitable for use while charging."

As for the Rings I guess we had a guy sold our party a crap ton of armor which we resold for a pretty penny. This gave us enough gold to buy everything on the Durnan's magic item list with the exception of these items:

potion of dragon control
Dwarven Thrower (hammer)
Girdle of Giant Strength

So there were a couple of Rings of Protection in the list including a +4 Ring that was still up for grabs. I thought you could use it more but with a base AC of 19 yours is actually higher than mine by 1. So if I took the +4 Ring I would have an AC of 22 and if you took the +2 you would have an AC of 21. The Other way Around puts me at an AC:20 and you with an AC: 23.
