I will allow her 1 shot if she wants, as she was tracking them as they came up the hill.
Belle - let me know what action(s) you want to take.

"Anvilmar!"

With a giant roar, Sanzaru bursts from his signal fire and charges the nearest enemy.

OOC: I'm going to try to be as loud and intimidating as I can when breaking cover -- lots of logs flying everywhere, war cries, the works. I assume the nearest enemy is one charging Belle?

As the creatures begin to charge Belle, she is able to get a shot off with her bow. The arrow finds it's mark as the point creature shrieks and crumples to the ground.

Long Bow Attack: [1d20+6] = 9+6 = 15
Long Bow Damage: [1d8+5] = 2+5 = 7

Seizing the opportunity, Sanzaru bursts from his hiding place and rushes the nearest attacker, cleaving its head from its shoulders in one mighty sweep.

Battle Axe Attack: [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20
Battle Axe Damage: [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9

You lose sight of the last two creatures but you hear them split up and begin to fan out to the left and right of the clearing.
As you look at the 2 downed creatures you recognize that you are facing a team of goblins.

Round 2
Pebbles Initiative: [1d6+4] = 5+4 = 9
Mumford Initiative: [1d6-1] = 6-1 = 5
Goblin 5: [1d6] = 5
Sanzaru Initiative: [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
Goblin 6: [1d6] = 4
Belle Initiative: [1d6+2] = 1+2 = 3
Goblin 1: [1d6] = 2
Goblin 4: [1d6] = 1

Pebbles stays hidden in the brush and watches for any attacker that comes into view, especially if they are coming his way, which would be his primary target. When he sees one, he will loose an arrow.

Sanzaru will use his detect evil to get a bead on the goblin nearest him, and loudly advance toward it. "Goblins, I am a paladin of Anvilmar! I can sense your evil. Come out and receive the blessing of Moradin!"

If he gets close enough to a goblin, he'll take another swing with his axe.

Pebbles' keen eyes have little trouble tracking the goblin coming around his side. He follows the waving bushes and snapping of twigs until he catches a glimpse of the goblin through the trees and lets his arrow fly. Unfortunately, the arrow nicks a branch and is deflected wide of the mark.

Short Bow Attack: [1d20+5] = 3+5 = 8
(I applied a -2 penalty due to the cover of the trees and bushes)

Mumford cowers behind Pebbles as he mumbles the incantations for a shield spell.

Goblin 5 lets out a war-cry as he sees his comrades fall and takes a vicious swipe at Belle with his short sword but she deftly dodges the strike.

Goblin 5 Attack: [1d20] = 12

Sanzaru turns and advances to meet the second incoming goblin. His eloquent oration seems to have little effect on the enraged goblin so he steps up and swings his axe again but the goblin skillfully knocks it aside with his shield. The goblin counters with a thrust of his sword but is also unsuccessful as Sanzaru parries it with his axe.

Battle Axe Attack: [1d20+3] = 9+3 = 12
Goblin 6 Attack: [1d20] = 16

Belle drops the bow and draws her sword as she defends herself.

The last 2 goblins continue to slink around the edge of the clearing, despite Pebbles' near miss.

Round 3
Belle Initiative: [1d6+2] = 6+2 = 8
Goblin 6: [1d6] = 6
Pebbles Initiative: [1d6+4] = 1+4 = 5
Sanzaru Initiative: [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
Goblin 5: [1d6] = 2
Goblin 1: [1d6] = 1
Goblin 4: [1d6] = 1
Mumford Initiative: [1d6-1] = 1-1 = 0

Pebbles moves like a pint size ghost through the trees to a new location further from the incoming gobs, but still trying to stay in short range but out of the reach of their weapons. He'll then take another shot.
