Re: Horror, anyone?
IMO: Blackapple Brugh is about as detailed and darkly creepy as Ravenloft/ Barovia.
I think it could definitely scratch that horor itch if you like.
In the adventure anthologies, there are a few great adventures that I would put in the horror category as well.
I think with the right "mood", the Shephards of Pinewood mixxed with the Runied Sawmill and Blackapple could give a very Darkwood / Blair Witch Vibe.
Some of the "Hyborian age / Sword and Sorcery era adventures plunked into the dark forest theme could really give you this alien, wierd, and unsettling envuironment where nothing is as its eems and eveyrthing seems to be running on old, obscure rules that no one remembers anymore.
Some of the Morgansfort crypts would go great in here too.
One of the great things anout BFRPG is how wondefully modualr it is, and you can mix and macth all these differnet locations into a setting of yoru own design
If you would like some extra help, google Kevin Crawford, and his Without Number series.
He has free pdfs, and a fantasy setting named Worlds WIthout Number.
2/3rds of the book, is for helping to create a Fanatsy Sandbox for your PCs to run around in, and since most of the material is descriptive, it can easily be used to help flesh out your own, horror sandbox that you wanna build with BFRPG adventures and modules.
In about 30m-1 hour you could build a pretty solid horror sandbox with just these pieces.
There are a lot of great tools on this this site too, that can help with some of the minutae.
