Put two spaces between sentences. This is in the Basic Fantasy Style Guide.
Ack. This is one of my personal rules, besides being in keeping with the accepted style of the day, but I'm often too lazy to go through a whole book fixing them. Thanks man.

Page 7 – Travel from St. Dagon’s Cove to … header
Changed “Temple by the Sea” to “Dark Temple”.

Page 8 – 5 Kitchen – Monster description
Capped the first C of the “Cultist cooks”

Page 9 – 8 Canein Unit: paragraph 1
Changed “1d4+1” to 1d4+2” to match the time given in room 1.

Page 36 – Wandering Monsters
Added blurb about which Basic Fantasy Field Guide the Quasit and Grimlock are from to monster descriptions.

I've put a copy of The Dark Temple R5 in the Projects folder of Dropbox.
Thanks for all of that!

Now, about your questions:
AlMan wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:14 pm Here are some things that I had questions about:

Should the Animated Armor (Horror Within – Room 21), Flashbags and Awful Offal (Three Days of Peace and Music) be added to the Basic Fantasy Field Guide Volume 3 since they are new monsters?
Yes, that's probably a good idea.
AlMan wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:14 pm Page 44 – Three Days of Peace and Music – 16a. OUBLIETTE (upper)
The Yellow Mold in the room doesn’t have any HP blocks.
Also the AC is given as a 17 when the description in the Basic Fantasy Core Rules is “Can always be hit”.
You are welcome to fix these kinds of things when they come up. Since you've handed it off, I'll probably go ahead and fix it.
AlMan wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:14 pm Page 50 – Three Days of Peace and Music – 33 Grand Hall – 2nd paragraph after 2nd text box.
Which word is better; apprehended or comprehended?
Currently:
The swirling apparition on the far wall is the gate, and the strange thing seen within is Vheld’broggn itself, although its full form can not yet be apprehended.
Should be?
The swirling apparition on the far wall is the gate, and the strange thing seen within is Vheld’broggn itself, although its full form can not yet be comprehended.
Ack. Artistic license in use. I'd leave this one alone.
AlMan wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:14 pm Does each module need the maps for Rooms 17 and 18 or can they be included in the maps at the end of the book?
I've been asking myself the same question. Opinions?
AlMan wrote: Fri Nov 08, 2019 9:14 pm Can room numbers be added to Pytheas map so we know that Rooms 17 and 18 are in the foreground and 16a and 21 are at the back of the map?
Yeah. I'll do that myself, probably in the next release.

Announcing!

CS2 The Dark Temple, Release 5 -- November 09, 2019
Yet another editing pass by Alan Vetter and more formatting work by Chris Gonnerman. It's like watching a game of ping-pong between Al and James...

https://basicfantasy.org/downloads.html#cs2

I didn't number the rooms in the 3D view this time around. Possibly next time. I did move the room 17 and 18 detail to a page of its own in the maps section.

I saw the page with just room 17 and 18 and figured that though drawing the whole level isometric was more or less impossible, it should be easier to do two rooms.

Something like this maybe.

I love it... but as much as I hate to say it, there should be a 10' cubical room at the bottom of the pit, with the larger room 17 below it.

No problem. I was experimenting a bit with this anyway, so I'm happy with doing a few more variations.

Does this outline look correct?

BTW, I'm testing a "floating floors" as an alternative look. I'll see how this eventually turns out when I've added details.

I think the floating floors are distinctly clearer. All I'd add to that last one is the pit, the outline of the door that leads from the upper room to the pit, and some indication of the lower trapdoor, and it'd be perfect.

That image (once ready) will neatly fit on p. 80 w/ the other detail pics.

p. 51, Awful Offal - table missing line b/w AC & HD :(

Now with more details.

Let me know if some of the details should be adjusted. Many of those are added in as additional layers so most are easy to update. The "iron bars" are e.g. optional in the XCF file (now replacing the old version in the Projects folder).

Nice isometric map. VERY old school!
