You know you're probably doing the cover, right?

Re: The Dark Temple Contest
"A temple, ancient and crumbling, haunted by some eldritch horror..."
The temple sits on a rocky outcrop; it's a ways up, as seen by looking at all the stairs inside (the lowest level is still above the water table). The roof over the center section of the temple is collapsed, but the "wings" are still more or less under cover. The walls of the main sanctuary are higher than the outer walls of the wings, and there are tall, narrow windows (not shown on the map, because they're above eye level for adventurers) piercing that higher sanctuary wall. And of course, if seen from the correct side, there's a collapsed section of wall.
OR you could draw the sanctuary from the inside, with the toppled pillar and whatever debris or overgrowth seems appropriate to you.
Either way, or some other way if you prefer (perhaps the large final room on the lowest level?), laying out the image the way you did for the Equipment Emporium would be good; or, you can go with a landscape-format picture and I'll put the text bits in the black above and below it. An adventure needs a large area on top for the extra details we always put there.
Since you don't know what kind of eldritch horror lives there... maybe eyes looking out a window, or hidden in shadows just beyond a doorway?

Here are some thumbnails of possible covers. Anything can be adjusted at this point:

Re: The Dark Temple Contest
I like it too, but it doesn't match my description of the temple. Attached is a front view of the temple (showing just the stonework and the doors), and a cutaway view of the front of the temple showing the buttresses. The buttresses and arches support what remains of the roof in the front; the back sanctuary area is basically roofless as that roof was supported by wooden trusses and the pillars.
In my mind, the ground falls away from the temple on the left side; the crumbling bit in the sanctuary opens onto a drop some tens of feet to a rocky slope, doing substantial damage to whosoever falls out of it. However, this is not part of the background material and in no way affects anyone else's rendition of the adventure.

Re: The Dark Temple Contest
Thanks Chii and Solo. So should I try another sketch like #2, but with the more rounded center section? Also, are there any windows on the front facade on the wings or the center section?
Did you like any of the other ones? Or is 2 the keeper?

Re: The Dark Temple Contest
Combine 1 and 2... eyes glaring out of the darkness.
The main thing about 2 that bothered me was the roof line, since the wing roofs have a peak that conflicts with the text description I wrote.
ALSO... while the building has no low windows, it does have high ones. A window over the main door, for instance, would be a good thing. Round, perhaps.
