DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?
OK so I went back and started over, and decided I would go with the Morgansfort as depicted in the actual maps rather than my own version. The only thing I added in were stairs to the walls in two places and I had to change the roof of the main Keep building cause the whole architectural way it was drawn just did not work out. So I am almost done, the hardest part is having to go back and take out the things I keep putting in that I would have in my own fort to make it more strategically plausible. I still have some crenelations to do and the roof top entrances to the towers as well as some doors to place, but overall it is almost done. Anything look out of place?

Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?
I thought I had posted the final pics for Morgansfort that I did in Google Sketchup but apparently I did not.
So here it is in all of its spectacular glory...Morgansfort.
This is by the book (BF1), with the only change being:
- The roof of the main house.
- The addition of steps leading from the courtyards to the walls.
- The addition of the small tower on top of the tower in the keep area.

Any chance of getting the actual files for that sketchup? I have a couple angles that I want images of and your sketchup would work perfect for it.

These maps are just pure awesome.

Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?
Yes, these maps are great. I am with you on the part about it being hard not to put a gate/portcullis to close off the inner keep. I know that the whole thing is Morgansfort, but the outer, lower walls are to protect the "town" and the inner higher walls are to protect your royal buttocks. Any traveler can be in the town if they are willing to pay the tax and they are a dangerous sort of traveler at that. If I were the duke I would like a nice stout gate and an iron portcullis to protect me from the foul doings of armed adventurers with evil intent.
Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?
On that note, I thought the narrow passage from the town to the keep area was made as an intentional funnel. Anybody trying to get through would probably face a barrage of arrows from above, from both sides, if trying to force their way in. The stairs leading up to the top of the walls right next to that might not be the best tactical placement. Of course, tactics are rarely the only thing considered when building a fort.
Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?
sure its a funnel, but its a funnel with an open end. A gate is such a simple addition it seems odd not to see one at the end of the funnel.
