Over the past few years, I've developed my own browser-based online role-playing game partially based on the Basic Fantasy ruleset and I'm now soliciting playtesters to give the system a try at http://www.InfiniQuests.com!
The system is still in its infancy (I've released an "alpha version") but it contains several distinct adventures that should take 2-3 hours to play through. Players sign-up as individuals (one account per valid email address) and play their own set of characters--there is NO multi-player element involved. Instead, a virtual gamemaster controls the flow of the game, providing the "feel" of a traditional pencil-and-paper RPG (the overall interface is text-based but developed through a modern "Bootstrap" website design). It's a new take on an old-school approach and something, I hope, that will appeal to folks here at BasicFantasy.org.
While at this time I'm only inviting players to register, login and play, my ultimate goal is to open-up the web-based authoring toolset I've developed to allow future authors to design and develop their own quests as well. I've scheduled that for next summer, but I would like to find a special author soon who would be willing to design and configure a second set of quests within the system (and has the patience to work with a toolset that is still a little rough around the edges).
If you do decide to give the RPG a try, please keep in mind that this is just an ALPHA version, more a proof-of-concept than a finished masterpiece. Expect some bugs, a little weirdness and a bit of a clunky interface; I'm just one guy with a full-time job and two part-time jobs who also made the time over three years to develop a labor of love, so don't expect perfection. That said, I'd deeply appreciate any and all feedback--if the system is something the community would want to see improved, I'm willing to continue putting the time and effort into it!

There seems to be a problem with the player registration. It keeps saying I'm giving an incorrect security code even when I've clicked the check box.

Thanks for reporting the issue! Any chance you can try again? I had an issue with the web server but I think it's fixed now. Thanks for letting me know!

Sweet! I went ahead and added a little additional content to the registration process to try and make it easier and more intuitive. Again, thanks for letting me know about the issue and for giving the system a try!

I tried it right now and it seems an interesting concept.
I just did 4-5 passages cause it's late, but I'd add a bunch of visual contents to enhance the experience.
Anyway, I like it and deserves attention! Following.
Cheers!

Re: Looking for New Online RPG Playtesters!
Thank you for trying the system and providing some initial feedback! Don't worry, the system tracks everything in a big online database so you'll be able to resume your adventure at another time. Again, there are a handful of individual quests to undertake in my initial alpha release (one of which was basically taken from the Basic Fantasy Adventure Anthology 1 collection)--there's much more to play through!
I do agree that the overall interface is a little bland but I had to start somewhere and I initially focused on getting the base functionality working. My goal for the beta release next summer is to substantially improve the interface and make it more visually intriguing--we'll see. But I appreciate the honest feedback!

Re: Looking for New Online RPG Playtesters!
FEEDBACK UPDATE: For those of you willing to playtest the RPG, I've added a new "alpha testing" forum to the website at http://www.infiniquests.com/Players/Forums to leave feedback and initiate a conversation with other playtesters and the game's developer. Simply log into the site after you've registered--you should then be able to post a new thread and let me know what you think!
