Saurians are distant cousins to Lizard Men, and are usually 6 to 7 feet
tall with green, gray, or brown scales. Males have bright colors to head
with an oily sheen to the body, while a female will have a drab or dull
color. It's tail is used for balance and is 3 to 4 feet long.

Adult can weigh from 200 to 250 pounds. There is no distinction in battle,
male and females fight equally well.

The saurians eyes are closer together towards the front of the face and
they have good peripheral vision.

Due to their great Strength they always receive a +1 to
damage done with melee weapons.

Saurians are good swimmers but aren't as proficient in the water
as their cousins. They do not spend any length of time underwater.

Saurians disdain body armor and make their own weapons, which
are usually stone tipped and will scavenge weapons from dead
enemies.

Saurians use the larger dinosaurs as beast of burden or as a troop
carrier or weapons platform. It has been reported that war barges
have been seen being pulled by aquatic behemoths.

The saurians are considered fearsome due to the use of
Velociraptors, these dinosaurs are just a little lower on the
evolutionary scale but, very ferocious and very fast. The saurians use these
animals similar to war dogs or bloodhounds. They can also be used
to guard an encampment.

It has also been reported that :

Saurians pair for life.

They are carnivorous.

They communicate through the use of growls, grunts, clicks,
body colors and scents.

Saurian shamans have been seen at large tribal gatherings.

A special enmity exists between saurians and simians, saurians
will attack any ape or ape-like creature first.

Saurians are largely indifferent to the other races, being mainly
interested in their own survival.

i found this info on DF dated Dec 2005,
posted by themattjon, under "Creature Feature".

Saurian

Number Appearing: 10-40
Armor Class: 5
Move: 12"
Hit Dice: 2+1
% in Lair: 40%
Treasure Type: D
2 claws (1-3)/1 bite (1-8) or by weapon
Low Intelligence
Alignment = N

Saurians are the last remnants of an ancient race of humanoid dinosaurs. They are man-like in appearance, but have cold, dark eyes, long snouts, scaly hide ranging in color from bright green to dull brown, and spiny combs starting from their heads to the end of their long, whip-like tails. Although many are now mad, degenerate shadows of their former empire, some still have power and can even rise to 8th level fighting ability or even 4th level of magic use! Rarely a "lizardking" will rise among them and try to rebuild the empire of old. These large brutes are often smarter than the rest (with the aformentioned level abilities) and may have several tribes under it's control.
