Chapter 1-The Village of Epiceadale

Re: Chapter 1-The Village of Epiceadale
Arkus thanks the shopkeeper for the information and bids him a good evening before stepping outside.
To Phelan:
"I would prefer to walk once around the village while the light still lasts.
Cael suggested as much.
There is still plenty of time to joint the new arrivals for drinks at the inn."
Assuming that Cael and whoever else wants to join does not have a different idea, Arkus will walk along the main road until he leaves the village in the opposite direction from which the companions arrived. He will then look for a path around the outskirts of the village and try to get a good impression of the surroundings, i.e., any outlying buildings or whether the forest is close by in any direction (a thief always plans his getaway, just in case...).

Phelan replies with just a touch of sarcasm: "Well, I could hardy let you go alone and have all the adventure for yourself. Lead on Arkus."

Barros follows out with Arkus and the others to continue with the walk.

Re: Chapter 1-The Village of Epiceadale
Beyond the village proper itself, the village is surrounded in all directions by farms and fields, which form a border of sorts between the village and the forest. It seems that forest starts very close to where the fields end.
Arkus does not notice any path that specifically skirts the village proper.
At this hour, many of the villagers who were out harvesting in the fields are returning to farmhouses or the village proper. Several pass the companion, and look at them with interest. A couple smile and nod in greeting.

Barros nods back to the people returning from the field and looks around, as the companions are walking, towards the forest's edge to see if anything unusual can be seen.
Re: Chapter 1-The Village of Epiceadale
"Surrounded by the forest on all sides... I'm still not used to this rural life.
Strange animals, strange sounds, and sometimes no people for miles."
To Barros: "Do you want to walk all the way to the forest edge?
I don't mind a bit of a walk, but Phelan seemed more interested in getting back to the tavern."
OOC: are there any interesting looking buildings visible outside the village, e.g., the home of a local magistrate or wealthy farmer?

Barros doesn't notice anything unusual towards the forest edge.
There are a number of farm houses, barns, and similar buildings visible, but nothing that stands out as anything special.

"Well, I believe I have seen enough farmers for one day. Time for some ale and then sleep."
Phelan turns and heads for the inn.

"Well, Dunkin always said to check out the surroundings before you start anything.
We did that.
Let's go back!"
