What kind of adventure would you like to see in AA2?

Post by chiisu81 »

I'm almost done with my first contribution to AA2, and I've got some ideas for a couple more brewing away. However, I'd like to check with y'all to see if there's anything you haven't seen in BFRPG materials/modules (or even any other OSR/RPG game) that you would perhaps like to see in AA2. Maybe just a certain level range, a unique setting or NPC, anything!

Not sure about AA2 directly, but I want to see JDNeal tackle a few more in his particular way of re-creating the vibe of modules using BFRPG.

Ravenloft
Desert of Desolation (trilogy)
The Forgotten City (I think that was its name).
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

I might suggest some mid-level adventures.. I think we have an overabundance of starter level adventures but lack anything for those that have attained higher levels.

I think the idea of Mid-level seems just right. In that vein I was thinking about looking into a sailing/shipwreck/survival adventure. Not sure why, but has been on the brain lately.

Mid and higher level adventures! Like 7-12th level.

Maybe something unorthodox like an alternate setting or genre style adventure like barrier peaks or ravenloft-esque. Ya know, something that messes with expectations.

I'd love to see some mini adventures that can be completed in an evening.

A couple of individual oneshots would be cool, or even some oneshots that are linked forming a fast campaign

These days I'm also interested in oneshots for the occasional in-person game; mostly I gravitate toward crawlers with keyed dungeons, nifty traps, puzzles or gimmicks prearranged for sit-and-play; something a little more than just a random dungeon... of course I'm not helping/contributing much here am I, sorry :-( And AA1 did have a few like that. A lot of modules are pretty open-ended story-themed/protagonist based with little to no keyed rooms, which is good too, but potentially requires a lot more prep-time / decision making before getting into the action. Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Having said that, I've thought about using an in-space or mutant themed adventure in the future.

Mid-level I can definitely see needs some more lovin; my next 2 for AA2 will certainly be a higher challenge than the first one. ;)

Smaller/one-shots can certainly be addressed as well. These would necessitate far less (if any) back-story, pretty much "ok the party finds themselves on the road to the dungeon" or such, ya know? I've seen some cool maps that are smaller and would work great for this, I'll look into it...

Sounds cool Man!
My copy of AA1 has gotten a lot of mileage. Cannot wait to see what neat hijinks are in store for AA2.
