Re: Season 1 - The Farmer's Lost a Wife

Post by SmootRK »

While still in a feeble state, Nivek attempts to question the goblins {goblinese}, "where is the human woman, answer now..." Tannen (as stated above) kills one. Nivek repeats, "tell us where we can find the human woman..." Tannen may then again do as stated...

Hopefully this gets the point across to the last of the goblins. Nivek will translate the answers.

"Interrogation"

Post by JoeCarr28 »

((As the secret door searching will probably take much longer than the questioning, especially if Doughbert does it on his own, let’s deal with the interrogation first)).

It’s immediately apparent that these three goblins are less "committed to the cause" than the shaman you questioned earlier. All three of them blurt out answers to your questions, talking over each other in a competitive fashion, hoping that you’ll spare the most helpful.

To the question “"where is the human woman?” they answer broadly similarly …

“The boss took her away earlier today. To the tower up on the coast. He was struggling to understand her answers to his questions. So him and one of the other boys took her off to see the Big Boss. Riding wolves.”

To the question “what's behind the curtain with the wolf noises?”

“Err … a wolf”.

Pleased with the goblins' compliance (assuming Nivek conveys such), Tannen lowers his sword...

"It seems as though our task just got a little bit more complicated..."

Tannen sits on the cavern floor and wiping the grit and sweat from his face takes a swig from his waterskin.

"Nivek, pleas ask them when their boss was due to return. And see if any of them overheard what questions their boss was asking her."

"It might be more complicated, but at least its fruitful," Doughbert says, thinking of the gold and silver around his waist. "When you're done with the Alma questions, ask them about treasure and secret doors. And if they have any potions in this mess."

Hiker watched as Karl took up his typical guarding posture and quickly slid across to the other side of the entrance to emulate the soldierly Karl.

"I hate thems too,"
Hiker took a long swig of his water then stood his ground periodically glancing Karl's way to ensure he kept doing it right. And then something boiled up from the depths of his mind and he smiled as the thought coalesced into words.

And Hiker spoke, feeling sure his deep thought would please Karl, "goblins dont keep their shield arms high."

"That's why they're dead and we're alive," Karl says.

"I forgot it once... and nearly died."

"Having your shield arm high does not protect against an arrow in your arse," laughs Nivek.

Nivek follows up his questioning of the goblins with Tannen's continued threats with the sword, {goblinese} "What purpose does your boss-man want with the female human?"...

...{goblinese} "When will your boss-man return here, or will he?"

...{goblinese} "What are your numbers, and what awaits us at this coast tower?"

...{goblinese} "What valuables do you have here that might persuade us not to end your miserable lives?"

Their responses may alter Nivek's continued questioning, but those are the main topics to be covered.

More Questions

SmootRK wrote:{goblinese} "What purpose does your boss-man want with the female human?"...
"We dunno. We were told that our mission was to establish a base near the edge of the forest. And then to scout for, and capture, a local human for questioning. But we don't know what questions were asked. The Boss and the Shaman handled all of that themselves.
SmootRK wrote:...{goblinese} "When will your boss-man return here, or will he?"
It must be about a day's ride to the tower.
SmootRK wrote:...{goblinese} "What are your numbers, and what awaits us at this coast tower?"
At the tower? Maybe about fifty goblins. And a dozen orcs. Oh, and some wolves for riding of course.
SmootRK wrote:...{goblinese} "What valuables do you have here that might persuade us not to end your miserable lives?"
The goblins gesture at the crate containing the wooden statues. "Very valuable, very valuable."

Hoping that the interrogation is over: "Please can we go now. We'll be very good goblins. We'll just disappear into the forest and never trouble anyone again."
