Thanks Al, I used a FREE program called Krita to do the coloring.

The line inking was done with a Chinese brush pen and a Micron pen for the fine work.

I really like this concept, I can't wait to see the finished ODT/PDF. It will be one of the very few race/class supplements I'll ever use.

Here is the direct link to the pdf:

Please let me know any comments/modifications you think might help. Also, if you have anyone ever play the class, PLEASE let me know. That would be excellent.

I'm planning on weaving them into my current campaign in a month or so. There is a bandit leader with a Girdle of Giant Strength to take care of first.

He, he...Girdle.

Regarding the Fire Susceptibility, perhaps instead of a flat 50% chance to catch fire from any fire attack, they might have a saving throw instead. This would allow them to get better at avoidance over time/levels (but is probably worse for the lowest level characters).

This also allows the GM to have a bit more fine control over the attacks. A simple strike with a torch might grant a +2 or even +4 on such saves. Falling into a campfire or being struck by a more substantial fire source made at normal save chances. Magical fire such as Fireballs or fire attacks by magical creatures save at -2 penalty. And, tremendous fiery/molten sources would be at -4 save (Ancient Dragon breath, lava, etc.)

I might suggest a smaller amount as well such as d4 for the ongoing damage.

Then, on Hit Points. Given their resilient nature, I could consider giving them an increase in HD much like the Half-Ogre (Half Human Supplement). d4 HD becomes d6, then d6 becomes d8, and of course d8 becomes d10. While not massive creatures, they would clearly be tough and quite dense as beings of wood.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Nice idea about the saving throw. I'm going to download your comments and look at them when I get home.

The save kinda brings it more in line with a lot of other effects on successful hits (poison, entanglement).

The new version is up at:

http://basicfantasy.org/showcase-downlo ... ven-r2.pdf

Made a couple suggestions from SmootK, think it brings things a bit more inline with some of the rest of the old school classes, or some of them from BFRPG.

But more comments are always welcome.

Could you upload a b/w version? It would fit better with the rest of the game IMO

The ODT is available. You should be able to switch the picture to b/w for your own use and printing.
