Roll over, roll under & roll and add

Post by Dimirag »

My first supplement of the 2015 is here!! It's just a simple supplement allowing for:

1-Rolling the Thieves Skills in the same way as Turning Undead and Saving Throws.
2-Rolling the Thieves Skills, Turning Undead and Saving Throws as an "equal or lower roll".
3-Rolling all of the above as a "roll and add a bonus"

The files can be found on the Showcase

Why not bump the Cleric and Fighter tables to the next page, then the final large table to its own page? Makes it a little easier to read. :)

You mean like this? I felt like it leaves to much white space.

I think my second pdf is close enough to what you propose

Ok for some reason on my home machine your PDF was only showing the first page, now I see all 5 pages and it's exactly what I was aiming for. :)

This is a GREAT supplement. Wow, I may even consider going with this for my con game in a few weeks.

I especially like the add and roll over option. A unified mechanic, still within the bounds of old school style (at least in my book)

This is excellent! With the roll over version of the thief skills would a characters DEX mod be added to the roll?

Originally no, the idea is to keep the rolls as per the standard rules, but a GM wanting to incorporate the impact of an Ability's Modifier can do so on any of the three ways:
Roll Over: Add to the d20
Roll Under: Add to the Skill Score
Roll and Add: Add to the d20
If you are doing this, I recommend doing something similar for the cleric and MU.
