Re: JN2 Monkey Isle
According to the News page, I last uploaded a new version on 12/16/2011; in my post above dated 12/19/2011, I noted that I was waiting for an editing pass to be done before incorporating more artwork and releasing a new version. I believe Blazeguard was looking it over... you there, Blaze?

IIRC, I had gone through the entire document before sending you the edits. Or had I forgotten to send them to you? I'll go over it again to see if there's anything I missed and let you know.Solomoriah wrote:According to the News page, I last uploaded a new version on 12/16/2011; in my post above dated 12/19/2011, I noted that I was waiting for an editing pass to be done before incorporating more artwork and releasing a new version. The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Re: JN2 Monkey Isle
According to my email box, you sent me edits dated 12/13/2011, which obviously fed into the 12/16/2011 release. John Fredericks sent me more art after that release, as I noted above. The next email I have from you is dated 2/14/2012, and is about some LibreOffice formatting issues you were having.
However, I don't find any record that you were planning to make a second pass, other than my comment above. My reply to you about the edits you sent me say nothing about it. Perhaps I was confused at the time; I sure am now.
If you are, in fact, as done as you want to be with JN2, I'll go back and integrate John's artwork and make a new release. I find myself wondering if it does need another pass. I must have thought so then.

I liked the plot hook about Elven Traders.. I did notice one thing, In the maps if each hex is 6 miles.. that Island is FREAKING huge.. Its actually bigger than the big island of Hawaii.

No worries. I'll give it another go-over. Having not looked at it for awhile should give me a fresh perspective at it.

Once you're comfortable with it, I'll get another release out, and if it looks good... Lulu.

New release is out now.
For anyone who's interested, here is the current back-cover text for the module. Let me know what you all think.

Rising out of the vast emptiness of the blue ocean is a lush green island populated by strange beasts and scattered with ancient ruins waiting to be explored.
Monkey Isle is an adventure module for the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game. It includes an island wilderness area, numerous additional monsters including prehistoric creatures, and a number of detailed encounter areas. Monkey Isle is suitable for a group of fourth to sixth level characters.
Monkey Isle is designed for use with the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game Core Rules, available for free at www.basicfantasy.org or in print at our Lulu.com storefront, but it is quite possible to use this module with other “old-school” or “simulacrum” game systems. Please visit our website for additional adventures, rules supplements, character sheets, and other tools and documents for use in your game. Support and advice is available on our web forum (just follow the link on the main site). All materials and tools at www.basicfantasy.org are entirely free.
