Re: Chapter 7: Luck, or Hard Work?
Shybolt managed to get off two shots from his bow as the monstrous humanoid charged into the room, snorting and tossing its horned head, but only one arrow struck his target. Brother Arven struck from the side, swinging low at the monster's knees, scoring a solid hit on the monster. Enraged, the creature turned toward Brother Arven, spoiling Grumm's chances of attacking from behind, but making the same easy for Timorel; however, both men failed to land a blow on the monster.
The minotaur, for surely that is what it was, swung its massive axe at Brother Arven, smashing him back to the wall. As he slumped unconscious to the floor, there was an eerie moment of silence... but the minotaur didn't wait, drawing back to strike again.
Amazingly, those of you still standing all have initiative again.

Shybolt will pull his sword leap, forward and backstab the horny beast.
(BTW, are Minatoaurs considered larger than man-size? If so as a halfling I would gain +2 on my AC. Also, I know I can't sneak attack a critter that knows I am in teh room, unless its intelligence is such that it forgot , but a backstab should give him a penalty on his AC, I hope)

Timorel recovers from his missed sneak attack and attempts to skewer the beast with his blade.

Player: I drink the potion!
DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Brother Arven is going to need to put in some serious confession time if he makes it out of this alive.

Shybolt's attempted attack failed, but Timorel and Grumm both scored hits, and together they felled the beast-man.

"I am Grumm, slayer of minotaurs!"
"Oh, sorry about that chaps. Got a bit over excited. I was afraid we were done for there."
Grumm will close the door (leaving it open just a crack) and guard it while the others search the body.

Shybolt goes to check on our cleric and does the best he can to stabilize him.

Shybolt found Brother Arven was still breathing; he bound his wounds, but could not wake him immediately.
