Timorel will maintain his watch at the mouth of the cave for now.

Rykken will lend a hand in helping pull Shybolt back up.

Shybolt lost his torch, which must have gone out. In the whole tumbling-downhill event he just experienced, he really couldn't see much, and now he can't see anything.

(ooc: I posted this on the last page, but either you missed it or I didn't have room to light in down in the pit)

He carefully reaches around for another torch and his tinderbox. After ruffling up the prepared end of the torch he'll strike a few sparks into the pitch and wait for them to catch hold. Once the torch begins to burn solidly he will hold it out to see what there is to see.

Below him, Shybolt could now see that the tunnel widened to perhaps eight feet, and while the ceiling remained at the same angle as before, the floor dropped away sharply as far as he could see by torchlight. A thin stream of water ran by him and arched away into the darkness.

"perhaps we can keep this rope on me for a while longer. Would one of you strong types mind keeping a good hold on it." Shybolt will make sure someone has the other end of the rope and that his end is securely tied around his waist. Then he will continue on, even more cautious now.

Grumm will take the rope. He'll also look for something solid to tie it to.

Grumm looked, but did not find anything substantial within the cave. Outside, in the torrential rain, he knew there were tough little bushes he might tie off to, but he didn't like the thought of getting drenched. The lightning was a bit scary too, though he'd never admit that to his comrades.
