Chapter 11: Return to Redbluff

Rykken makes a beeline for the cave, while cursing the rain.

Shybolt looks carefully toward the cave to see if there is an obvious well worn path into the cave. Or if there are in signs of recent activity (I know its been raining hard, but recently disturbed areas would probably be muddier than areas that have lain fallow for a while). Are there any rocks, or other items that overhang the cave that might fall on us as we enter. He won't spend half the day investigating but will give it a fairly good looking over as they approach. He will nonetheless follow Rykken, at a short distance (15 '), into the cave.

Elwegon will head for the cave. Once inside he will get out his trusty tinder box and light a roaring fire and start to dry his cloak

Timorel will continue on to the cave very cautiously, looking around for possible ambushes and anything that looks out of the ordinary. He also keeps his eye on the rest of the party and if anyone else stops suddenly, he will as well.

[Solomoriah]

Grumm held back as Timorel pushed through the undergrowth toward the cave. Timorel stopped just inside the cave mouth, shaking off the rain and looking around carefully. However, in the dimness of the cave, with the darkened sky outside, little could be seen. At least, Timorel thought, he didn't hear anything.

Rykken and Elwegon stopped behind Timorel, unable to move into the cave with him in the way, and thus were forced to stand in the torrential rain and wait. Shybolt found the undergrowth rather easier to move through than the larger sorts did, though, and was able to slip past and enter the cave beside Timorel. However, he too found the darkness within impenetrable, though a stray flash of lightning revealed to them both that the cave opened up just past the entrance.

[Blazeguard]

Rykken nudges the two blocking the exit, "If you can't see anything, let me have a look. I'm getting soaked back here." He will enter the cave if allowed and try to examine the cave using his darkvision.

[Solomoriah]

Whoops... forgot Timorel's darkvision. Here's an update:

Timorel could see that the cavern opened up just inside the entrance, then narrowed and curved to the right about ten feet in.

[Sir Bedivere]

Timorel switches to his sword and proceeds cautiously into the open area so the others can enter.

If Grumm hasn't heard any terrible screaming yet, he'll proceed to the cave as well.

Shybolt will ask the ones with darkvision if they want to go up and peak around the curve. If they don't he will light a torch.
