Shybolt can see you talking, and once you stick your head through the floor, he can hear you as well.

So then....I can see and hear Shybolt, Neither he nor I can tell that anything has changed except he now has light and hears me talking. The strange thing is to the ones above who just see me disappear and cannot hear me talking.

I mean all I need is one of them rushing up and tripping over my invisible body and falling into the portal.

I think I have it.

Brother Arven, continues to speak as if talking to Grumm and Timorel, and looking down the well at Shybolt, holding a torch for him to see. :P

If the torch lights the pit, then its sandwich tossing time.

OOC: Sorry, I had the mistaken idea that it might be difficult getting back to the rope.

Grumm scratches his head and shrugs his shoulders. He'll wait a few minutes, and then check out the circle as well - just to see where the cleric went.

Brother Arven, is waiting for the signal from Shybolt to send the others down the rope.

(not that they can see or hear me, but he would probably raise up after getting no response to any of his snarky comments. Question: are Shybolt and Arven the only two holding torches? If so then the room gets plunged into darkness when I "go into" the illusion right? They would notice that I imagine. )

Shybolt is not holding a torch, he is depending on Arven's torch.

OOC; well since the DM says that you can see into the room above it is not really an issue for you as you will see it regardless, you just cannot hear me if I am above the illusion. The light would still shine down, just not as bright. But the guys above would be plunged into darkness when I and my torch vanish.

It will encourage them to hurry along after us.

The disappearance of Brother Arven did, in fact, plunge Grumm and Timorel into darkness. Timorel's eyes quickly adapted to the darkness, of course.

So, Shybolt is throwing a sandwich?
