Chapter 8: A Puzzle

Brother Arven, holds the torch closer to see what it is, if he has to, he will try to pick it up.

(And no he is not going to say anything about finding Grumm's "stare" under the water. )

Grumm will try to make his way out of the disgusting water, but keep a watch on the proceedings and, if possible, on the room above.

Shybolt is still splitting open the serpent.

Brother Arven stuck his hand into the cold, dark water and fumbled about for a bit, then drew out a heavy object. It was a shortsword, or at least, it had been; it was encrusted with dark brown slimy material of some sort.

Brother Arven will hold out the sword to the others, "Anyone want a magical short sword of slime attracting? Alas, I was hoping for a vorpal mace, but no such luck .....I think he may have ate this sword and then let it run its course, ewwww."
He will swish it around in the water a bit and see if he can get it any cleaner and then see if anyone in the group wants it.
"Shybolt, you find anything interesting inside slithery there?"

ewww, you don't really think that thing came through a serpents rear?

Timorel will also move out of the water.

Is Shybolt skinning the snake, or butchering it?

Is it just a snake? I was picturing something more larger and fiercer and was wondering what it survived on. I was just planning on slitting its gullet to see what it had swallowed. I was just joking about making stuff out of its skin.

It does seem to be just a really large snake.
