"Well," Timorel murmers quietly, a bit startled. Then, "Ah, at last, some peace and quiet," he softly jokes.
Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
Grumm suddenly realizes that the success of their expedition depends upon throwing a sandwich. "Good Lord - what am I doing here?"

"I ask myself that every morning," Timorel replies. "Do you think they'll signal, or have they already been eaten?"
Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
I'll give them a couple minutes and then take another look.

Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
Shybolt threw the sandwich into the dimly-lit room, then strained to see if the serpentine thing pursued it. He felt sure that he had, so he dropped into the water and ran quickly to the passageway, feeling relief when his feet were no longer under water.
He stood there a moment, panting, with the deep darkness of the passageway before him. Arven's light did not reach nearly so far as his babbling did, thought the halfling as he tried in vain to see anything in the inky blackness.
Then he heard a hissing sound behind him. Turning quickly, he saw a shadowy serpent rising from the water to strike at him!

OOC: Can Arvin see the serpents glistening scales raising from the dark water below, in the feeble torchlight?
If so then he will raise to his knees quickly, (becoming visible to the others), and shout "Quickly, Shybolt is being attacked by a creature in the water, he has no light, quickly, one of you down...help him! Timorel prepare a light spell for the man or something.", he will then drop back down on his stomach at the edge of the rune and hold the torch down enough to that he might have some light to fight with.
If not then I guess he will just lay there on his stomach and whistle a tune.

DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Shybolt is prepared for such an action because he kno
Shybolt is ready with sword and dagger to fight defensively while he waits for the additional combat team that was supposed to be the 2nd half of this assault team. He looks up to the hole in the roof expecting Grumm to drop through any second.

Grumm scratches himself while chewing on a persistent little hangnail.
To Timorel, "Hear any good jokes lately?"

"Hm, now that you mention it, I did hear this joke in town while we were recuperating. An elf, a dwarf, and a halfling walk into a bar, and the bartender says, 'Hey, what is this, a joke or something?'"
