Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
"Let's follow Shybolt's plan, then," Timorel says. "But let's begin with the whole group going to the throne room, then spreading back to the portal room. I'd hate to be surprised if a hive of nasty has taken up residence there in our absence."

Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
I'm going to require a concise action statement before I proceed. I'll give myself a headache trying to distill it from the preceding discussion.

OOC: As I said it is all in the "distilling" process anyhow.
Player: I drink the potion!
DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
If everyone agrees, we will go back down to the caverns first to the portal room to see if there are any clues on the walls to the puzzle. Then we will all go to the throne room to make sure the way is safe checking up each passage along the way, up to the first turn to see if an army is waiting around the bend. If we find nothing in any of the passages and the throne room then we will spread out back toward the portal room. Shybolt will stay in the throne room and listen at the "secret" door. I think Grumm and one other should stay at either end of the east/west passage to deliver messages while someone with fewer HP does the tossing stuff into the portal. Before we go down we will try to find stuff that can make a lot of noise when they go through the portal and fall to whatever floor they land on (or inside the gullet of a dragon). We will need the GM's help to tell us what we see in the tavern that would work. Hoefully after a few tries Shybolt will hear something. If not, we can go investigate the sacrifice chamber.

"I'll toss things in," Timorel says. "Sounds like fun."
I agree with the plan. Let's go.
OOC: Why do you want a low HP character to do that?

Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
(OOC: because I feel a fighter is needed in the passageway to head off any bad guys. They can react in either direction faster than whoever is in the portal room.)
Re: Chapter 8: A Puzzle
"I, being the most useful making light snacks and lunches, will remain in the kitchen with Irene, we shall not be deterred from our duty we.....' Seeing the other glaring at him, "I mean, I shall stand where told and yell when attacked or at the appropriate time and on cue." smiles, "Shall we move out?"

So, holding for a post from Grumm, then we'll move forward.
