"Which part doesn't feel right? If it's the kicking in, Shybolt seems to have a solution. But if opening the door doesn't feel right, maybe we should reconsider. I'm a bit uneasy about this one myself."

Well - you only live once. Grumm will pull steadily on the rope and see if he can unstick the door that way. If not, he'll give a sharp yank.

"Or, we could just see what happens," Timorel says quietly and philosophically.

Grumm pulled hard on the rope, and the door came open suddenly, raising a cloud of dust. As the dust settled, he saw within the room a large, thronelike chair, with a withered humanoid corpse seated upon it, hunched forward. A chain led from behind the chair to a heavy shackle around one of the corpse's dessicated legs.

Then the dead thing sat up, suddenly, and Grumm could see the foul reddish glow of its eyes...

Looking at the door and past Grumm, Brother Arven is startled to see the thing move.- "Ahhh! Big dead guy!.or what ever it is....."

He grasps his holy symbol, and holding it out in front of him, he calls on his God in a strong clear voice "May the True Light above banish this foul creature back to the dusty grave from whence it came! TURN!"

The holy symbol in his hands, begins to glow slightly, almost as if the rays of the sun were shining upon it. The very air become charged with the feeling of goodness.

OOC: My Kingdom for some Holy Water!

Well, if that thing won't turn, Grumm sure as Hell will. Grumm will back up as quickly as possible, getting his glaive in between him and the dead thing.

How big is the room? How far away is the bad guy? And, from a quick glance around the frame, was the door just really stuck or was there some other reason it was so hard to open?

The chair, and its occupant, are about 15' to 20' into the room. Poor lighting and airborne dust make the room dimensions hard to verify, but you think it might be about 30' deep in total. Yes, the door was just really stuck.

Shybolt shakingly says, "Nice Work, Grumm. Now just jump on in there and finish it off."
