Shybolt will look up at the ceiling to see if it shares the same characteristics with the walls and/or if something waits to drop on his head. If it looks safe, he'll enter the room and inspect the alter ata 5' distance as he circles around it, watching the area behind it as well as he approaches. Do I see any niches, shelves or any thing particularly interesting about it. what is it made of?

Grumm enters the room, but will remain near the door, ready for a fight.

Timorel will also stay by the door, ready with sword and spell.

Shybolt sniffs the air to see if the smoke is being pulled out of teh room or maybe that it couldn't even get in much. He'll also watch the floor for any telltale signs that a pit might be below, ie, uneven surface, discolored along an edge, debris/sand piled up on one side of a crack and not the other, smoke blowing around in weird eddies above the floor, hollow sounding.

He sees nothing up there. The ceiling is no more remarkable than the walls or floor.

The icon represents a throne, not an altar; actually, it's just a rather heavy wooden chair. An iron ring is set into the floor beside the chair, with a short length of rusty chain attached to it.

The smoke isn't entering the room much, but the air is stale. The floor shows no signs of any hidden traps, so far as Shybolt can tell.

(OOC: sorry, I meant throne)
So there is nothing else of interest in the room other than the chair and the ring and an iron chain. Can I see under the chair? Is there any designs on it? Are there scuff marks on the floor near the chair to show that it has been moved around?
While shybolt inspects teh chair, he will say to the others, "Hey, did anyone notice if there were any treasures such as necklace, rings, etc, on the body in the hall that might have survived the fire?"

Grumm will re-inspect the bones and say, "While I look over the body, maybe you lot can look for secret doors. I wonder what would happen if somebody sat in that chair?"

OOC: Sorry for the absence.
Brother Arven will continue to watch the passage for any sneaky critters, covering Grumm while he pilfers the re-dead thing.

Timorel waits to see what Shybolt finds out about the throne.
