Chapter 5: The Rescue
Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
With Brother Arven now exhausted of his healing spells, he moves again to cover the rear of the party. Careful that no critters sneak up from behind. If the group advances past the initial ambush alcoves, he will quickly search them for anything of interest or clues to the whereabouts of the missing above-grounders.
Player: I drink the potion!
DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
"Shybolt, can you talk to him?" Timorel calls out. If Grumm's movement has made room, Timorel will step forward and whack the trog with the flat of his blade in an attempt to subdue him. If there is no room, then Timorel just stands ready to whack the trog if an opening occurs.

Grumm rushed forward and struck down the retreating troglodyte with a mighty blow from his polearm.

Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
"Sure, that's no problem," Timorel says, prodding the trog corpse with his blade. "Hello, troggy. Where are the prisoners? How many of you stinky lizards are guarding them?" He turns back to Grumm. "The difficulty, as you can see, is that they never seem to say anything back."
Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
Shybolt seaches the bodies. "You never know. Sometimes the dead can still tell us a lot." He hopes there is something on the bodies that belonged to the kidnapped townies.
Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
Maybe we should prop the trogs up in their alcoves - make it look like they're still alive. And no - I don't know why this would be a good idea.

Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
"Hiding them in the alcoves isn't a bad idea at all," Timorel says as he searches the trog corpse, trying not to gag. "Anyway, it's probably best you killed this one. If he'd tickled any of us it could have been pretty bad. So, what, you three are wounded, I'm fragile, and Brother Arven's out of divine favors for the day? Do we risk going on to save the girl? I still have my Sleep spell ... I wonder if we could set a trap of some kind? Get a bunch of them in a small area and put them down for a nap?"
Re: Chapter 5: The Rescue
"Depends on if we can find some bait," says Grumm, his eyes darting furtively toward the halfling.
