Chapter 3: Trying Again
Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
Grumm has darkvision, I believe - if the others' torches are ruining it, he'll ask them to step back so he can see into the room. If that doesn't do him much good (i.e. can't see any details), he'll light a torch and toss it into the center of the room.
Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
Shybolt starts to get nervous about the bloody tools and decides to set them in the corner next to the rag he used to wipe them clean. He inspects himself hoping that he doesn't have any blood on him just in case those creature/statues are attracted to its smell.
"This feels pretty eerie. This blood and those things may be connected. Be careful if you have any on you."

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
Arven will move to a position where he can see what is happening at the door. "If they are undead I am prepared to attempt to turn them!" he says with a just barely perceptable unsteadiness to his voice. He slips his mace into the leather loop at his waist as he grasps his holy symbol.
Player: I drink the potion!
DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
Those bearing torches turned away, permitting Grumm to use his darkvision; however, he learned nothing new. The figures continued to stand there, on either side of the far door, waiting motionless.

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
(OOC: When shybolt looked in could he see anything on the walls, ceilings and floor especially anything that looked like blood? Or the remains of fools who came in earlier? If not, Shybolt will say:
"We might as well go in. We didn't get dressed up for nothing."
He will then wait for Grumm to move into the room and he will move in behind him. moving to Grumm's right and still with the bow out. If those figures even twitch in a hostile manner shybolt will loose an arrow at them.

What about the torch Grumm threw in?
Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
O don't think he has thrown it in yet. He decided to use his darkvision first.

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
I had a hard time figuring out whose orders to resolve, so I did a "short" resolution. Feel free to restate your plans from here.

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
I just reread his post and I was wrong. He said if the darkvision did no good he would throw a torch into the run. I think we are all ok with that action happening next.

Re: Chapter 3: Trying Again
Tossing a torch into the room made everything clearer. Grumm could plainly see that the motionless figures were, in fact, statues. They depicted lizard man warriors in strange armor, curved swords at the ready, guarding a door covered in ornate carvings. The walls of the room were smooth but covered with mottled markings.
