Chapter 1: The Descent
Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
(OOC: You put the horn in your pack. Shybolt remembers seeing you carefully pack some extra clothing around it to protect it from jostling and bumping.

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
(OOC: Yeah, but I just assumed the worm attacked during those few seconds Timorel was inspecting the horn. Somehow I doubt I could get away with putting it in my backpack now, then attacking.)

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
Grumm will lie on the floor, regretting his height.
Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
Dorne rushes to Grumms aid, swinging his warhammer. If possible he will try to move the combat away from the fallen half-orc.

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
Carefully laying the horn and his torch aside, Timorel whipped out his two-handed sword and attacked the monstrous worm. Even as he scored a serious blow to the creature, it struck out at him with its tentacles, and he also fell to the floor.
Shybolt thrust his torch towards the monster's face, driving it backward and away from Timorel and Grumm. Dorne approached from another direction and swung his warhammer at it, but his swing was wild.
Both Shybolt and Dorne have initiative in the next round.

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
It seems to be taking us out in descending order of height. Watch your back Dorne!
Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
(OOC: Can shybolt tell if the torch is doing damage? If not he may change tactics next round.)
Shybolt, happy to be the shortest guy in the room, once again slashes at the worm with his torch hoping to burn out an eye if it has one.

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
Shybolt poked at the monster once again with his torch, driving it back further, even as Dorne landed a solid blow with his warhammer. The monster collapsed under his onslaught.
For a moment, the two adventurers stood looking at the monster and catching their breath. Then Dorne looked to his fallen comrades, and found them breathing but glassy-eyed.

Re: Chapter 1: The Descent
Shybolt will move his torch to his left hand and pull his sword and wait to be be certain that the creature isn't still twitching. Then seeing that Dorne is checking on the tall ones he will go to the door, listen for any sounds outside the room, then peek out to see if our combat has drawn any attention. If all seems quiet out there he will return to Dorne to help him prepare our deceased comrades for disposal. He will be pleasantly surprised if Dorne informs him that they are not dead, hopefully before he starts rifling through their packs.
If nothing happens after all that, he will slice the worm open from top to bottom to see what else it might have had for a meal.
