Player: I drink the potion!
DM: Are you sure you want to do that?
Player: Um, no. Maybe, Why, do you think it would be stupid?

Re: Out of Character Chat
Ya know, we discovered this door back on January 13th, so we've been dealing with this area one way or another for more than a month of playing time. That's impressive in and of itself*, but as it happens, it was also a Friday.
I don't know whether to imagine Solomoriah doing this,
, or this,
, or this,
, or some combination thereof. Whichever it is, as a player, I'm sure he's evil, it's just a matter of what kind of evil he is at the moment.
* Yeah, I admit, I'm easily impressed by such things.

Hmmm How would you post a combination emoticon? I think we are safe in assuming the worst of him regardless of any evidence to the contrary. He is a DM after all.

That door is going to open and we are going to see.....nothing, the thing will have died (again?) from old age.
Or it was an illusion, or a rabid vampire gerbil will rush out and bite Grumm on the ankle, while Shybolt climbs up on the shoulders of Brother Arven as he hikes his robe and stands on a stool screaming and showing his petticoat. The elf of course will just yawn.

Re: Out of Character Chat
A TPK would be pretty funny right now, given how long we've taken here.
I vote for dying from asphyxiation from the oil smoke, or maybe the floor and walls are made of flammable stone and the entire cave system goes up. In any case, it should be a self-inflicted TPK. The undead fellow has, as Arven points out, redied of old age by this time.
