Let's not open the door until we check the southern room, suggests Paladin. Benoni begins inching back up the corridor.

"OK." says Tannen before leading Benoni towards the southern room.

Not wanting to leave the chance that someone will attack them from behind, Doughbert moves to the door and listens at it. If he hears nothing he will return to his place behind everyone, err in his position in the marching order, and move out with the rest.

Whilst Doughbert listens at the door at the southern end of the dormitory, the rest of the party retrace their steps to the other unexplored room.

Again this room (25' E-W x 30' N-S) is unlit. The lantern reveals that the floor is carpeted and the furnishings appear to be of very high quality. Along the southern wall is a massive bookcase; most of the books lie scattered on the floor. Wall hangings and pictures have been torn down. The drawers of a desk have been pulled right out and emptied.

There is a single corpse in this room, that of a middle-aged man dressed in expensive-looking clothes. His skin is pale brown, his face bears three weeping sores and one of his arms is missing.

You can see no other exits from this room.

Meanwhile back at the dormitory door [rolls] Doughbert hears no noise.

[Is anyone going to map? Tannen did it for Episode 1, but that doesn't mean it has to be him again].

Mandross is probably in the best situation for mapping, though his player is not exactly the best at keeping up with it.

Doughbert assured that all is quiet behind the door hurriedly rejoins the others. When he gets there he stays well clear of the body and moves to teh bookshelf. He'll investigate it and around it for signs that the bookshelf has been moved -scuff marks on the floor, an area of the floor in front of it more polished than elsewhere, maybe footprints going toward it but not coming back. He'll look along teh side to see if its flush with the wall or if maybe something has fallen behind. he'll check the shelves to see if they move, etc.

Paladin peers from a distance to see if the man's arm was cut or ripped off (lots of blood on floor) or lost at some other date (pinned sleeve for example).

[Rolls]. Doughbert investigates the bookcase thoroughly. It doesn't appear to have been moved any time recently - it's flush against the southern wall. It also looks really heavy, and would probably take at least two people to shift it. The shelves all seem solid. All-in-all, Doughbert can find nothing out of the ordinary with it.

It looks like the man's arm was hacked off (yes, lots of blood on the floor). There's no obvious sign of the missing appendage.

I suspect if we find the arm we find the gem observes Paladin. This isn't some weird mating ritual of you humans again, is it? Paladin shakes his head incredulously.

Benoni gawks at his employer and then shakes his head incredulously. For a moment, it looks like the two of them are parodies of each other, though who the butt of the mocking is is unclear.

**New map in Mapping & Handouts thread** I'm not happy with it, but it is a start - I didn't have much time to fiddle with it.
